To clone a voice for singing with AI, record a clean vocal reference, separate the instrumental if necessary, then either train a singing voice from lyrics or MIDI or convert an existing sung performance into the target voice. Prepare A Reference And Backing Track
- Get permission from the person whose voice you will model. Keep a record of that permission before uploading anything.
- Record or select a clear reference in the vocal style you need. Keep the singer close to the microphone and avoid background music, reverb and overlapping voices where possible.
- Prepare the performance you want to transform. If the source is a finished mix, use LALAL.AI to separate vocals and instruments. Its listing supports previews, batch processing on paid plans and uploads up to 2 GB; the free Starter plan provides previews but not full result downloads.
- Keep the original instrumental and the isolated vocal at the same start point. This makes it easier to compare timing after conversion.

- Solo the vocal and inspect every sustained note for wobble, metallic tones or abrupt timbre changes.
- Check lyric intelligibility at phrase endings and fast consonant clusters.
- Compare the converted take with the original for timing, breath placement and emotional intensity.
