Overview

Faith Teams combines a people and families database with tools for attendance, children’s check-in, volunteers, service planning, events and giving. That makes it a practical fit for churches looking to consolidate routine administration rather than assemble separate tools for each task.

The main trade-off is cost structure: ongoing plans scale by active-person tier, even though the FAQ says the account can hold unlimited people and users. Churches should distinguish that database capacity from the active-person thresholds used to price subscriptions.

Key features

The database brings contact details, membership status, notes, contributions, communications, attendance and involvement together. That can give staff a useful shared record of both administration and participation. Attendance tracking, group management and event registration support the work around that record.

Volunteer scheduling and service planning cover recurring coordination, while children’s check-in can print name and pickup tags. Those tags are a concrete operational benefit for churches managing child handoffs during services.

Giving is available through the mobile app, text-to-give, an embedded website form, a kiosk and custom signup forms. The range gives members several ways to contribute, but communications have a quota: paid subscriptions include email and 500 text messages per month. Each additional batch of 500 texts costs $10; an unlimited-texting option can be applied for after using the system.

Faith Teams includes Checkr integration for background checks. Its team can help import people and data from another system at no charge, which may ease a move from existing church software. Support is available by phone and email, alongside support documents and tutorial videos; paid plans include US-based phone and email support.

The 10-day trial requires no credit card and is fully functional except for messaging. Users can preview messaging, but receive no Faith Teams phone number until they subscribe. The trial is useful for evaluating core workflows, but it cannot validate live messaging before purchase.

The FAQ says account information is encrypted, protected and backed up. Faith Teams’ terms say it does not retain the sensitive representative or banking information its payment processor uses to verify online-giving accounts.

Pricing

The free account is free and is capped at 100 active people. It also requires online giving to be activated within 30 days of signup. That makes it a narrow entry point for a small congregation willing to enable online giving promptly, not a no-strings option for a church that only wants to try the database.

Monthly billing starts at 75.00 USD per month for up to 499 active people, rising to $95 per month for 500 to 1,499, $125 per month for 1,500 to 4,999, and $150 per month for 5,000 or more. This tiering gives smaller churches a clear starting price, while larger congregations should budget for the higher bands. Every paid tier includes email and 500 monthly texts, with additional texting charged separately unless an unlimited option is approved.

Annual billing is 750.00 USD per year for up to 499 active people, then $950 per year for 500 to 1,499, $1,250 per year for 1,500 to 4,999, and $1,500 per year for 5,000 or more. The listed three-year plan is 7503.00 USD per year, billed 3 years, with the same tier amounts—$750, $950, $1,250 or $1,500 per year by active-person band—and a free iPad offer indicated. Churches considering a longer commitment should weigh that offer against the commitment term.

Platforms

Faith Teams runs on the web and has Android and iOS platforms. That combination supports browser-based administration alongside mobile access.

Who it's for

Faith Teams is a strong match for small and medium-sized churches that want a shared system for records, attendance, children’s check-in, volunteer coordination and giving. The free option may suit a congregation with no more than 100 active people that can meet the online-giving activation condition. Churches with larger active populations should compare the applicable paid tier with their budget, and those dependent on heavy texting should account for the included quota and per-batch cost.

Pros and cons

Broad church workflow coverage: member records, attendance, events, child check-in, volunteer scheduling and service planning sit alongside giving.
Flexible giving channels: app, text, website form, kiosk and custom signup forms give congregations multiple contribution routes.
Useful migration and support provisions: free import help, tutorials and phone and email support can reduce the burden of adopting a new system.
Free account has meaningful conditions: 100 active people is a modest ceiling, and online giving must be activated within 30 days.
Messaging is limited by default: 500 monthly texts may be insufficient for a high-volume church, with additional batches costing $10 each.

Alternatives

ChurchTrac is worth comparing if a church wants a paid system with a free trial and broad desktop and mobile platform coverage; its listed 75-people plan is 29.00 USD per month.

ChMeetings may suit a church seeking a freemium alternative with a free plan for 50 people and 50 donations per month, or a paid starting tier at 12.00 USD per month.

Planning Center is a reasonable alternative for churches interested in modular free plans, including a People plan with an unlimited database and reporting or a Calendar plan for one room.

Tithely Giving is the alternative to consider when giving is the priority: its Free Giving plan has no monthly fees, though transaction fees apply, and allows unlimited donations.

ChurchPlan offers a free Essentials plan with unlimited members, online giving, automated tax receipts, a personalized church mobile app and donation links.

Excellerate is another church-management option, with a free plan and a listed $49-per-year basic desktop support plan.

Church Windows may be a fit for churches seeking a paid system with desktop modules and a free trial.

ChurchSuite is a paid alternative with a Solo plan at 15.50 USD per month for 0–99 active contacts and the Address Book module.

Verdict

Faith Teams is a good choice for a small or medium-sized church that values putting people records, ministry coordination and multiple giving methods together. Its strongest reason to choose is that functional range; its strongest reason to look elsewhere is the active-person pricing structure, compounded by a 500-text monthly allowance that may not suit messaging-heavy congregations.
