Overview

Aluo is an online product-image workspace for ecommerce sellers who need to make and prepare listing visuals without a studio or full-time designer. It suits small sellers handling both creative work and catalog upkeep; its breadth is useful, but recurring AI work depends on buying enough credits.

Key features

Aluo combines background removal and replacement, product-photo generation from prompts or reference images, and AI photo editing. Product-scene templates give sellers a way to create more composed imagery, while the canvas editor adds layers, typography, shadows, brand assets, precise masking, color grading and instant preview. That combination is more capable than a single-purpose cutout tool, but may be more workflow than a seller needs for occasional background cleanup.

Batch processing covers resizing, enhancement, compression, watermarking, format conversion, rotation, lighting adjustments, filters and background removal. For stores with many images, handling routine edits in batches can save repetitive work. JPG, PNG, WebP and other common ecommerce formats are supported.

Watermark-free export and HD export at 2x, 4x and 8x are among the plan features. Credit use varies with the model: 2,000 credits are estimated to cover 52–111 AI generations, or 333 background removals at Pro+ rates. That range matters when estimating how far a monthly allowance will stretch; generation-heavy workflows may consume credits far faster than simple removals.

Aluo says uploaded images are processed in the browser by default and are not permanently stored on its servers. Prompts and images sent to model endpoints during inference are not persisted or used for fine-tuning or retraining; generated outputs may be temporarily cached unless saved. Traffic uses HTTPS/TLS, its database is hosted on Supabase, and the company says it conducts periodic security audits. Stripe encrypts transactions, and payment information is not stored on Aluo's servers. Support is offered by live chat or email, with a stated response within 24 hours.

Pricing

The FREE plan costs 0.00 USD per free, requires no credit card and provides five one-time credits. That is enough to try the workflow, not a meaningful ongoing production allowance.

PLUS costs 9.90 USD per month, billed monthly, for 2,000 credits. It is the lowest-cost recurring option and a sensible starting point for light use, though the generation estimate shows that 2,000 credits can mean as few as 52 generations depending on model. PRO costs 19.90 USD per month, billed monthly, and provides 5,000 credits; MAX costs 39.90 USD per month, billed monthly, and provides 12,000. Those larger allowances better fit regular catalog work, but the same model-dependent variation makes usage planning important.

Aluo also sells credit packs with 12 months of validity: Small Pack is 3.00 USD per month for 500 credits; Standard Pack is 12.00 USD per month for 2,400 base credits plus 200 bonus credits, 2,600 total; and Premium Pack is 22.00 USD per once for 5,000 base credits plus 500 bonus credits, all AI features and instant delivery. Packs suit buyers who prefer a longer validity window to a monthly credit allowance. The one-time Premium Pack differs from the monthly-priced Small and Standard packs, so check the validity and payment term against expected usage.

Platforms

Aluo runs on the web, keeping the workflow browser-based rather than tied to a desktop or mobile app. It also offers API access, which may suit teams building image processing into another workflow.

Who it's for

Aluo is aimed at sellers on Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and independent stores, especially those without studio resources or a full-time designer. It is a stronger fit for sellers who need generation, editing and batch operations together than for users looking only for a basic cutout.

Pros and cons

Pros: Generation, editing, canvas controls and batch processing sit in one ecommerce-oriented workflow, reducing the need to switch tools for routine image preparation.
Pros: Credit packs remain valid for 12 months, offering an alternative to monthly subscriptions for less predictable usage.
Pros: Browser-default image processing and stated non-retention of inference inputs address common concerns about uploaded product images.
Cons: The free plan's five one-time credits are a brief trial, not a useful recurring allowance.
Cons: Credits translate into a wide range of generation counts by model, so sellers cannot treat a credit total as a fixed number of finished images.
Cons: Generated outputs may be temporarily cached unless saved, so users should save outputs they want to keep.

Alternatives

For a broader directory of background-focused options, browse AI Background Generators; for tools centered on editing, see AI Photo Editors.

Cutout.Pro is worth considering if platform reach matters: it supports web, mobile, desktop and API, with a 5.00 USD per month plan for 80 credits. Pincel offers a 20-credit free Starter plan and a 19.00 USD per month Creator plan; choose it if that free allowance or its listed mobile and API platforms better match your needs. Phot.AI has a Starter plan with 500 credits per month, one listing, one seat, one marketplace account and 2 GB cloud storage, making it a relevant option for sellers whose work is organized around marketplace listings.

Claid, Pixelcut, HueFold, LlamaGen.ai and Pacdora are also alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Choose Aluo if you sell online and want one web-based place for product-image generation, detailed edits and batch preparation, with API access as an option. Its central advantage is that range; its main drawback is the credit system, which makes the five-credit free plan only a taste and monthly usage dependent on the model. Sellers needing dependable recurring volume should compare the paid allowance with their expected mix of generations and removals before committing.
