Overview

Evite is a digital invitation and event-coordination service for hosts who want RSVPs and guest communication in one place. It is best suited to casual gatherings and hosts who need a browser-based option for guests. Its free Event Pages are useful for simple events, while larger guest lists and repeated use push hosts toward paid plans.

Key features

Invitations and guest management

Hosts can customize invitations, send them by email, text, or link, track RSVPs, message guests, and send automatic reminders. That covers the practical follow-up that often gets scattered across separate messages. The Free plan's 12-guest cap is restrictive for larger gatherings, so hosts should check the package limits before choosing a design or sending invitations.

Event Pages and guest coordination

Free Event Pages are aimed at casual gatherings and work in a phone, tablet, or desktop browser. Hosts can create them and guests can RSVP without installing an app, lowering the barrier for invitees. Sign-up sheets let guests claim items to bring or volunteer slots, making Event Pages more useful than a bare RSVP list when a gathering needs shared contributions.

Cards and design

Digital greeting cards can be scheduled or sent immediately by text or email. Hosts can upload their own invitation designs, and Evite says its Canva app can send a design directly to Evite. Premium invitations remove ads and add a matching envelope, stamps, and extra photo and text cards; those upgrades suit hosts who care about presentation, but the price varies with guest-list size.

Pricing

Evite is freemium: the free option includes invitations and Event Pages, while Premium invitation prices vary by guest-list size. Paid single-event packages are priced as follows:

Plan	Price	Guest limit	Best fit
Silver	17.99 USD per month	12	A small single event
Gold	36.99 USD per month	30	A modestly larger event
Platinum	68.99 USD per month	75	A larger guest list
Diamond	99.99 USD per month	750	A large one-off event
Evite Pro	249.99 USD per year	Up to 2,500 guests per invitation	Hosts running multiple events a year

The four named packages are for single-event use, so their monthly price does not make them ongoing subscriptions for a series of events. Evite Pro is the recurring option, with an annual term and a much higher invitation limit; it is presented for businesses, schools, clubs, organizations, and weddings. Choose Free for a small, straightforward event, but expect to pay for Premium invitations or move to a package when the guest list exceeds 12.

Platforms

Evite lists apps for Android and iOS. Event Pages can be created in a browser on a phone, tablet, or desktop, and guests can RSVP without downloading an app. That browser route is a practical advantage for mixed-device guest lists, while the mobile apps give hosts another way to use the service.

Who it's for

Evite fits hosts organizing casual gatherings who want invitations, response tracking, reminders, and simple coordination in one service. Its Event Pages are especially suitable when guests should not need an app. For a one-time event with a larger list, the single-event packages provide graduated capacities; for recurring events or lists above 750, Pro's annual plan and 2,500-guest ceiling are the more relevant options. It is less compelling for a very small event if a paid invitation's presentation matters, or for frequent hosting if paying separately for single events is undesirable.

Pros and cons

Browser-based Event Pages: Guests can RSVP without an app, which makes participation simpler across devices.
Useful coordination tools: RSVP tracking, messaging, reminders, and sign-up sheets cover both attendance and who will bring or do what.
Design flexibility: Hosts can upload their own invitation design, and Premium invitations add matching print-style elements and remove ads.
Free-tier ceiling: The Free plan is capped at 12 guests, limiting its usefulness for larger gatherings.
Different payment models: Single-event packages and an annual Pro subscription suit different patterns of use; hosts need to choose based on event frequency as well as guest count.

Alternatives

Paperless Post is worth considering if a free feature set covering the first 50 invitations by email or phone number better matches the event; its Basic option is priced per guest, per event. Choose Partiful for a free core platform if optional premium invite designs and ticket-purchase fees fit the plans. Smilebox is a freemium alternative that describes free slideshow creation.

Greenvelope may suit hosts who want a paid service with a free trial: its one-time Single Mailing covers up to 60 people, while its annual membership offers unlimited mailings and up to 150. AInviter is a web-only freemium option for someone seeking AI-generated designs, with a free event capped at about 12 RSVPs and a shareable link, QR code, and email delivery. InviteDrop has a free plan with five invitations per event, RSVP tracking, and email or text delivery without ads or watermarks; its Event Pass is a one-time option.

Punchbowl is another alternative, with a free trial for membership that lasts seven days and requires payment details; the subscription begins afterward unless canceled. Greetings Island offers a freemium service, with premium invitation and card design prices not stated.

Verdict

Choose Evite for casual events where a free, app-free Event Page plus RSVP and guest coordination is more important than a large free guest allowance. Its range of one-event capacities and Pro's 2,500-guest limit also gives larger or recurring hosts a clear upgrade path. Look elsewhere if the 12-guest free cap or per-event package model does not fit how often you host.
