Overview

YouSquared is an AI receptionist for solo practitioners and businesses that want calls and texts handled around the clock. It is strongest for teams that need caller screening, lead qualification, multilingual answering, or appointment handling without a human answering every call. The free tier makes it possible to start small, but its single-call limit is a meaningful constraint as volume grows.

It is aimed at practitioners and teams in fields including healthcare, pharmacy, legal, mortgage, real estate, construction and engineering, and home services. Compare it with other Virtual Receptionist Services if you are weighing AI call handling against other reception options.

Key features

Call handling and scheduling

The AI screens callers, filters spam and scams, answers FAQs, qualifies leads, takes messages, and can transfer calls. That combination suits a solo operator who wants to reduce interruptions while still directing relevant callers through. Scheduling is limited to plans that include it: those plans can book, reschedule, and cancel appointments on calls and sync them to a calendar. Solo Basic does not include scheduling, so it is a poor fit if appointment handling is central.

Languages, integrations, and controls

YouSquared handles calls in 57 languages and can switch languages when a caller does, a useful capability for practices serving multilingual callers. Team includes CRM, EHR, and ERP integrations; Enterprise offers custom integrations and real-time webhooks are documented. The maker states that the service is SOC 2 compliant and PIPEDA-aligned, encrypts data in transit and at rest, and offers a signed BAA for healthcare. Users can securely export call data or request deletion at any time, and the maker says it never sells user data.

Pricing

The freemium structure gives solo users a way to start without a paid commitment, while the higher tiers raise call capacity and concurrency. A 14-day free trial is offered for Team.

Solo Basic: 0.00 USD per free. It includes 20 calls per month, one call at a time, note-taking and dictation, call screening, and transfer to you. It is a reasonable starting point for light call volume, but lacks the scheduling and dedicated number included higher up.
Solo Lite: 29.99 USD per month, with yearly billing also offered at a displayed 15% discount. It raises the allowance to 90 calls per month and adds scheduling, a dedicated AI phone number, and texts from that number. One call at a time remains the ceiling, so it fits low-volume practices rather than busy lines.
Solo: 59.00 USD per month, with yearly billing also offered at a displayed 15% discount. It provides one line and as many calls as it can take, but still handles only one call at a time. Lead qualification and booking, call transfer, and 57+ languages make it the more capable solo tier; choose it over Lite when those capabilities matter more than a fixed 90-call allowance.
Team: from 199.00 USD per month. The plan covers 200–3,000 calls per month at $1.00 per call, handles 10 calls at a time, and includes CRM, EHR, and ERP integration and a signed BAA for healthcare. It suits organizations with multiple simultaneous callers or systems to connect, though the per-call rate makes volume a budget consideration.
Enterprise: custom pricing, for 3,000+ calls per month at volume pricing. It adds unlimited simultaneous calls, custom integrations, a dedicated account manager and engineer, SLAs, and a security review. This is the tier for high-volume operations that need capacity and service commitments beyond Team.

Platforms

YouSquared supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. It offers an iOS app, an installable web app for Android and desktop, and access through current browsers; apps are included with every plan. One compatibility caveat matters before switching: Google Voice lines cannot be forwarded to the AI, though a separate YouSquared number can be used.

Who it's for

Solo Basic and Solo Lite suit practitioners with modest call volume who can work within one call at a time; Lite is the better choice when scheduling and texting from a dedicated number are needed. Solo adds broader call handling for a single line. Team is more appropriate for businesses that need 10 concurrent calls, integrations, or a healthcare BAA. Enterprise targets higher-volume operations needing unlimited concurrency, custom integrations, and dedicated support. If calls routinely arrive simultaneously, the solo tiers are not the right choice.

Pros and cons

Pro: A free plan provides 20 calls per month with screening, transfers, and note-taking, giving a low-volume solo user a no-cost entry point.
Pro: Multilingual answering across 57 languages, with language switching, supports callers who change languages mid-conversation.
Pro: Team combines 10-call concurrency with CRM, EHR, and ERP integrations, while Enterprise removes the concurrency cap and adds dedicated account support.
Con: Solo Basic and Lite handle only one call at a time, so simultaneous callers may outstrip their capacity even before monthly quotas are reached.
Con: Scheduling is not included on Solo Basic, and the lower paid solo tier still caps monthly calls at 90.
Con: Google Voice cannot forward calls to the AI, requiring a separate YouSquared number for that setup.

Alternatives

Consider PATLive if you want a paid service with a free trial and Android, iOS, and web support; its listed pay-as-you-go chat and outbound-call plans start at 19.00 USD per month, with no included chats and additional-chat charges. Posh is another paid, trial-offering option on Android, iOS, and web; its Chïc plan starts at 65.00 USD per month but includes zero receptionist minutes, with minutes billed separately.

Specialty Answering Service may suit readers comparing paid minute-based plans: its Economy tier is 44.00 USD per month plus $1.54 per minute, billed by the second. Signius Communications is another paid alternative with Android, iOS, and web support; its starter tier is 45.00 USD per month and includes zero minutes, with additional minutes charged separately.

VeraDial offers a paid alternative with a free trial and Android, iOS, and web support; Vera Lite is 14.99 USD per month and includes one line, 50 Vera-answering minutes per month, and 150 calling minutes per month. Ruby is also paid and supports Android, iOS, and web; its listed chat add-on requires a virtual receptionist plan.

AnswerConnect is worth comparing if you want real people answering around the clock: its Entry plan is 350.00 USD per month for 200 minutes, plus a setup fee and additional-minute charges. Dialzara is a paid, web-based alternative with a free trial; its Business Lite plan is 29.00 USD per month for 60 minutes, with overage charges.

Verdict

YouSquared is a strong fit for solo practitioners and growing teams that want automated call screening, multilingual handling, and appointment workflows, with a clear path from a free tier to higher concurrency and integrations. Its main advantage is the range of call-handling capabilities and plan choices; its main drawbacks are the one-call-at-a-time solo tiers and Google Voice incompatibility. Choose it when those limits fit your workflow, and look elsewhere if your line needs more simultaneous capacity on a solo plan or must forward from Google Voice.
