Overview

Donation checkout, text-to-give, campaign links, and live donation displays sit alongside communications and workflows. That makes KindEngage a better fit for teams connecting fundraising with supporter follow-up than for organizations seeking only a texting service. Its web-only platform is also a consideration for teams that need native mobile or desktop apps.

Key features

Fundraising and messaging

Several giving routes let organizations tie campaigns to donations, while personalized mass texts can be scheduled and can include photos, videos, and images. MMS and keyword texting add options for campaign and ongoing outreach. The combination is useful for teams running fundraising and engagement together, though multi-goal campaigns and peer-to-peer fundraising are marked as coming soon rather than current features.

Workflows and shared inbox

Multi-step automated sequences can use conditional logic and time-based triggers, reducing the need to manage every follow-up manually. A shared two-way inbox adds team assignment, internal notes, filters, search, and conversation history, which can help keep conversations coordinated across staff. AI-powered messages are also marked as coming soon.

Integrations, compliance, and support

KindEngage connects with Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Zapier, Google Sheets, Stripe, Slack, Constant Contact, and more than 50 integrations; API access is available for custom integrations. The maker says its payment processing is PCI-compliant and that opt-in management and consent records support TCPA and GDPR compliance. Nonprofits receive email and chat support, video training, and a resource library, while premium plans include a dedicated account manager. The maker also says teams can send their first SMS in under five minutes without coding and can get free onboarding training and setup assistance.

Pricing

The freemium model gives smaller organizations a way to start, but the contact ceiling makes the free tier a poor long-term fit for a growing supporter list.

Plan	Price	What it means
Nonprofit Free plan	Free	For organizations with under 500 contacts. The cap favors small lists and limits room to grow before a paid plan is needed.
Nonprofit pricing	99.00 USD per month	Starting at $99/month, with unlimited SMS recipients, email campaigns, no setup fees, and no long-term contracts. It is the more suitable tier for organizations that have outgrown the free contact limit or need broader reach.

A nonprofit discount is available. The paid plan's starting price is meaningful for small organizations, even with unlimited SMS recipients and no long-term contract.

Platforms

KindEngage runs on the web. Organizations looking for Android or iOS apps should consider whether a browser-based platform meets their team's needs.

Who it's for

KindEngage names nonprofits, faith organizations, community groups, churches, mosques, synagogues, food banks, and schools as intended users. Its blend of fundraising and communications particularly suits organizations that need donation tools and supporter outreach in the same workflow. A group needing only mass texting may find the broader fundraising suite unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pros: Fundraising, messaging, workflows, and a shared inbox are combined, which suits teams coordinating campaigns and follow-up.
Pros: Unlimited SMS recipients on the paid nonprofit plan and no long-term contracts offer reach without a stated commitment period.
Pros: Integrations, API access, and consent-management features support connected operations and compliance processes.
Cons: The free plan is restricted to organizations with under 500 contacts, limiting its usefulness as a list expands.
Cons: Nonprofit pricing starts at $99.00 per month, a notable entry cost for small organizations.
Cons: Several fundraising and messaging capabilities, including peer-to-peer fundraising and AI-powered messages, are still marked as coming soon.
Cons: The web-only platform may not suit teams that need native mobile or desktop applications.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of nonprofit text messaging software or nonprofit text-to-give software, start with those category lists.

CallHub may suit organizations seeking a paid marketing platform with a free plan and support across web, mobile, desktop, and API platforms.
Text Request is an option for teams that do not need a free plan and want to compare its enterprise offering, which includes 20,000 texts and 10 dashboards for $575.00 per month.
Sinch Engage may fit teams comparing SMS and automation packages with stated monthly message quotas and user limits.
Text-Em-All (formerly Call-Em-All) offers a free starter tier for testing, while mass texting requires an upgrade.
Flocknote may appeal to churches seeking a free plan for 0–40 members, with monthly pricing that varies by church size above that.
TXTPass is a paid alternative with a $9.99 per month Basic plan that includes scheduled messages, keywords, and auto-replies.
Beetexting may suit organizations comparing a $89.97 per month Professional plan with two included users and one number.
OpenFn is a workflow-focused alternative with a free plan that includes one workflow and 100 runs per month.

Verdict

Choose KindEngage if your nonprofit or faith organization wants fundraising, messaging, automated follow-up, and shared conversation management in one web platform. The integrated toolkit is its clearest reason to choose it; the under-500-contact free-plan cap and $99.00-per-month starting price are reasons to look elsewhere if your needs are narrower or your budget is tight.
