Overview

Wiser AI is a Shopify merchandising service that uses machine learning to personalize product recommendations across a store, cart and email. It is best suited to Shopify merchants who want recommendations and upsells in several parts of the shopping journey. Its breadth is useful, but order-based pricing and a theme snippet that needs reinstalling after a theme change are real operating constraints.

Key features

Recommendations and upsells

Wiser adapts recommendations to customer behavior, product assortment, pricing and offers in real time. That gives merchants more responsive suggestions than fixed product pairings, particularly as promotions or the product mix change. Frequently Bought Together draws on products previous customers purchased together and supports bundle-style upsells; cart recommendations adjust to what a customer has added, whether the cart is a page or drawer.

Post-purchase recommendations appear immediately after checkout, extending upselling beyond the storefront and cart. Checkout-page recommendations are also supported for Shopify Plus stores using checkout extensibility, but they are part of the Enterprise plan rather than the listed Pay as you grow features. That distinction matters for merchants comparing plan costs.

Search, analytics and integrations

Intelli Search adds personalized product discovery, but it is an Enterprise feature. Pay as you grow plans include detailed analytics, related products, handpicked recommendations, best sellers and new arrivals alongside the recommendation and upsell features. The integration directory covers review and wishlist tools, page builders, post-purchase services, back-in-stock apps and currency converters, which can help fit recommendations into an existing Shopify setup.

Wiser provides a Help Center, demo scheduling, widget customization and support contacts in Toronto, Indore and Houston. Its service store is hosted on Shopify, and its privacy policy says credit card information is encrypted during network transfer. Merchants should plan for theme maintenance: changing a Shopify theme removes Wiser widgets until the installation snippet is added to the new theme.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free for up to 50 orders. It gives smaller stores a way to start without a subscription, but its order cap makes it a limited fit for a growing shop. The listed paid tiers are billed monthly and expand the order allowance while retaining the listed Pay as you grow features: post-purchase upsells, Frequently Bought Together, AI recommendations, related and manual recommendations, cart-page upsells, detailed analytics, best sellers and new arrivals.

51–100 orders: 9.00 USD per month, a low-volume entry point for stores that have outgrown the free cap.
101–300 orders: 19.00 USD per month, for stores with moderate order volume.
301–500 orders: 49.00 USD per month, for merchants willing to pay more as volume rises while keeping the same listed feature set.
501–1,000 orders: 99.00 USD per month, and 1,001–2,000 orders: 199.00 USD per month; these tiers suit larger order volumes but increase the monthly commitment without adding listed features.
2,000+ orders: custom pricing; Wiser recommends its Enterprise plan for high-volume stores. Enterprise adds advanced features, priority support, Intelli Search, an advanced cart drawer, tiered cart discounts, checkout-page upsells, API and custom integrations, and a dedicated customer success manager.

A 14-day trial is offered. Merchants choosing a paid tier should weigh the order ceiling against the monthly price, since the listed Pay as you grow features stay consistent across those tiers.

Platforms

Wiser supports API, extension and web platforms. The product is centered on Shopify stores, and checkout-page upsells specifically require Shopify Plus with checkout extensibility.

Who it's for

Wiser is a practical fit for Shopify merchants—from small boutiques to larger businesses—who want product recommendations, cart offers and post-checkout upsells under one service. It is less compelling for a store that needs personalized search or checkout recommendations but cannot justify Enterprise, or for a merchant unwilling to reinstall a snippet after changing themes.

Pros and cons

Pro: Recommendations respond to customer behavior, assortment, pricing and offers, rather than relying only on static pairings.
Pro: Store, cart, post-purchase and (for eligible Shopify Plus merchants) checkout placements support merchandising across multiple stages.
Pro: A free plan and a 9.00 USD per month entry tier give low-volume merchants a modest-cost starting point.
Con: Order caps and rising monthly prices make costs scale with sales volume, while the listed Pay as you grow feature set does not expand across tiers.
Con: Intelli Search and checkout-page recommendations require Enterprise, putting two notable capabilities beyond the standard paid plans.
Con: Theme changes remove the widgets until the snippet is installed again, adding a maintenance step for merchants who redesign or switch themes.

Alternatives

Consider Recombee if you need recommendation tooling across Android, iOS, API and web rather than a Shopify-centered merchandising service; its free plan caps monthly interactions at 100,000, requests at 100,000, active users at 20,000 and catalog items at 20,000. Personyze is another freemium option, with a free plan capped at 5k pageviews, one domain, three active campaigns and eight AI tasks a month; it may suit a small campaign-led operation that can work within those limits.

Choose LimeSpot if its 19.99 USD per month Turbo plan and allowance of up to 250 online-store orders per 30 days fit better; Turbo is not available for Shopify Plus stores. Segmentify is a paid alternative with Search & Discovery and Growth Solution plans priced through a sales manager. Constructor is an enterprise option with custom pricing discussed through a demo.

Alterable offers a freemium plan with 10,000 monthly impressions and no free trial. Bloomreach Content and Clerk.io are paid alternatives; Clerk.io also offers a free trial. For shoppers evaluating tools specifically for email personalization, see Email Personalization Software.

Verdict

Choose Wiser if you run a Shopify store and want adaptive recommendations plus upsell placements across the cart and post-checkout, with a free tier or monthly order-based plans to start. Its breadth is the main reason to pick it; look elsewhere if you need Intelli Search or checkout recommendations without Enterprise pricing, or if recurring theme changes make reinstalling its snippet an unwelcome chore.
