Overview

PollQR is a QR-based polling and survey service for live audiences and customer feedback. It is best suited to presenters and businesses that want participants to respond from their phones without installing an app. Its breadth is useful, but per-poll caps and the price of competition events can make it a poor fit for larger or occasional jobs.

Key features

Live polls offer seven question types, including multiple choice, word clouds and ranking, with results appearing as votes arrive. That makes PollQR a solid option for presentations where the audience should see responses in real time. Moderation, Q&A and slide integration add useful event controls, while browser-based workflows work with PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Slides without a presentation add-in.

Business surveys include downloadable response data, email alerts, AI sentiment analysis and optional review nudges for happy customers. Those tools suit teams gathering feedback and deciding when to follow up, though Pro's 5,000-response-per-poll limit is a meaningful ceiling for high-volume surveys. Pro includes CSV exports and webhooks; PollQR says responses can be downloaded in CSV or JSON.

Competitions support live judging, with a private live jury board and up to five scoring criteria on the competition pass. The standard pass covers one event and up to 10 contestants, so larger fields require an individual quote. PollQR says it uses encryption, secure hosting and access controls; customers own their survey data and are responsible for privacy compliance for respondents. Its PowerPoint add-in reads and writes only the open presentation to insert selected content and connects to PollQR over HTTPS.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one live poll with no credit card required. It is a useful way to try a single poll, but not a substitute for recurring use.

Pay-As-You-Go costs 2.99 USD per month, with no subscription required. Each poll is capped at 500 responses and data is retained for 90 days. That is the lowest-cost fit for occasional teachers, trainers, speakers and short events, provided the response ceiling and retention window work for the event.

Pro costs 19.00 USD per month after a 14-day free trial. It includes 20 surveys with unlimited responses, 25 custom QR codes, 100 live polls per month, 5,000 responses per poll, and 100 Q&A sessions per month with up to 1,000 questions each. This is the stronger fit for regular business or presentation use, but the per-poll cap still matters even with unlimited survey responses overall.

The competition pass costs 249.00 USD per competition, or 149.00 USD with a Pro plan. It covers one event, one QR code per entry, up to five scoring criteria and a private live jury board, for up to 10 contestants. Enterprise Starter starts at 299.00 USD per month for 5–25 locations, a tier aimed at multi-location operations rather than an individual event.

Platforms

PollQR supports Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. Participants can respond without installing an app, and browser-based presentation workflows cover PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Slides.

Who it's for

PollQR suits presenters who want live audience input and businesses running surveys, especially when QR access, real-time results and follow-up tools matter together. Occasional event hosts can use the per-poll option; regular presenters and businesses get more capacity from Pro. It is less compelling for very large surveys that exceed 5,000 responses per poll or competitions with more than 10 contestants unless custom pricing is acceptable.

Pros and cons

Pro: Polls, surveys, Q&A and judged competitions are brought together, reducing the need to split an event across separate tools.
Pro: Participants need no app, and results update as votes arrive, which suits in-room and presentation use.
Pro: Pro combines survey response capacity with exports, webhooks, QR codes and substantial monthly poll and Q&A allowances.
Con: Pay-As-You-Go limits each poll to 500 responses and keeps data for 90 days, constraints that may rule it out for larger or longer-running feedback efforts.
Con: Pro still caps each poll at 5,000 responses, and the competition pass is a substantial per-event charge for a field limited to 10 contestants.

Alternatives

Poll Everywhere is worth comparing for smaller audiences: its free plan covers 40 people, or 700 for 30 days, while PollQR offers a 500-response Pay-As-You-Go poll.

Particify may suit users prioritizing recurring rooms and question series, with its free plan allowing 200 participants per room and unlimited rooms and question series.

AhaSlides is a fit for smaller presentations, with a free allowance of up to 50 participants, five quiz questions and three poll questions.

Votinova offers an alternative free session for up to 50 participants, with six question types and one simultaneous session.

MeetingPulse has a 14-day trial for up to 25 attendees and an annual Essential plan, which may appeal to teams planning a year of meetings rather than buying an event pass.

Vevox offers a free-forever plan for 100 participants and one user, a lower-cost entry point for modest sessions.

Crowdpurr is another free option, capped at 20 participants, 15 questions and three simultaneous experiences.

Mentimeter may suit slide-led presentations, with 23 slide types and 50 participants per month on its free plan.

Verdict

Choose PollQR if you need QR-based polls, surveys and audience interaction in one service, especially for presentations or business feedback where real-time results and follow-up tools matter. Its limits are clear: the cheapest paid option retains data for 90 days, Pro caps each poll at 5,000 responses, and competition events cost extra. Look elsewhere if those caps or event charges do not fit your audience and budget.
