Overview

The suite covers bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, final accounts, tax, practice management, company secretarial work and CRM. Practices can provide bookkeeping and payroll access to clients, while a portal, workflow automation, time tracking, billing, document management and deadline tracking support the firm’s operations. That breadth is useful when work spans several functions, but the different billing units mean the headline entry price is not a reliable estimate of a firm’s total cost.

Bookkeeping combines bank feeds and automated reconciliation with invoicing, online payments, receipt management and VAT submissions. Final Accounts supports direct filing to HMRC and Companies House, as well as one-click trial balance imports from Xero, Zoho Books, FreeAgent and QuickBooks. The combination suits practices handling varied client records and compliance tasks.

Key features

Users can send receipts through WhatsApp for AI extraction and organisation. The Apple and Android app also supports client invoicing, payment tracking and receipt capture, making it useful for routine tasks away from a desk.

Nomi’s integrations include Adsum, Companies House, FreeAgent, GoCardless, Nest, Pension Sync, QuickBooks, SignEasy, Stripe, UNIPaaS, Xero and Zapier. The breadth of named connections should help firms working across those services, though the Final Accounts import feature specifically names Xero, Zoho Books, FreeAgent and QuickBooks.

Nomi says its servers are in London, with backups in multiple locations and product data held exclusively on UK servers. Its data processing addendum says it does not knowingly process sensitive personal data. Dedicated weekday customer support and help with migration and setup are useful for firms moving existing records into a multi-module system.

Pricing

Nomi has no free plan, but offers a 30-day trial with access to all premium services and no credit card required. Charges are modular, and several plans bill per client, business or submission rather than per firm, so costs depend on the services and volume used.

Self Assessments: 4.00 GBP per month, billed +VAT, for MTD readiness, HMRC submissions, client and practice workflows, and document storage. It fits firms that need this tax workflow without buying the broader suite.
Bookkeeping & VAT: 4.00 GBP per month, billed +VAT, with expense and receipt management, VAT submissions, bank reconciliation and feeds, invoicing and online payments.
Payroll, Pension & CIS: 2.00 GBP per month, billed +VAT, for up to 10 employees; each employee above 10 costs 40p. The employee cap matters for growing payrolls.
Final Accounts: 4.00 GBP per month, billed +VAT, covering corporation tax and statutory accounts submissions, accounts production, automated adjustments and journals, and direct HMRC and Companies House filing.
Practice Management: 10.00 GBP per client/month for KYC and onboarding, task and deadline management, and a client portal. Because it is client-based, firms should consider their client count when budgeting.
Company Secretarial: 0.30 GBP per Business/month for confirmation statements, incorporations and a Companies House connection.

Practice-oriented charges use different units: Payroll, Pension & CIS (practice) is 2.00 GBP per client/month for up to 10 employees, plus 40p per additional employee, with HMRC/RTI compliance. Final Accounts (practice) and Self Assessments (practice) each cost 4.00 GBP per submission. The former includes CT600 and statutory accounts submissions, FRS105/FRS102 templates and trial balance import; the latter includes MTDITSA readiness, HMRC submission, e-signatures, data collection and document storage. Bookkeeping & VAT (practice) costs 4.00 GBP per client/month and includes unlimited bank feeds, invoicing and online payments, VAT submissions and UK server storage.

Business owners can choose Payroll (business owners) at 10.00 GBP per month for payroll, pension auto-enrolment, CIS management and HMRC/RTI compliance, or Bookkeeping (business owners) at 15.00 GBP per month for bookkeeping, VAT submissions, bank feeds, invoicing and online payments. These are distinct from the practice plans, so firms should match the billing basis to whether they are buying for their own business or serving clients.

Platforms

Nomi runs on web, Android and iOS. Its mobile app focuses on invoicing clients, tracking payments and receipt capture, while the wider practice and accounting suite is cloud-based.

Who it's for

Nomi is aimed at accounting and bookkeeping practices, especially those providing bookkeeping or payroll access to clients and handling a mix of compliance and practice-management work. Firms that can use several of its modules may value the coverage; a business needing only one narrowly defined function should compare the relevant module and billing basis against a specialist option.

Pros and cons

Pro: A wide module range spans bookkeeping, payroll, final accounts, tax and practice administration, which can support varied client work in one platform.
Pro: WhatsApp receipt capture and a mobile app cover practical tasks such as receipt handling, invoicing and payment tracking away from a desk.
Pro: The 30-day premium trial requires no credit card, giving firms a way to evaluate the modules before committing.
Con: Charges mix monthly, per-client, per-business and per-submission billing, making combined costs less straightforward to predict.
Con: The payroll plans include only 10 employees at the base price, with an extra 40p for each employee above that threshold.
Con: There is no free plan for practices that want to keep using the service without a paid module.
