Overview

List, Board, Calendar, Team and Gantt views give teams different ways to organize and review work. The free plan pairs unlimited tasks and members with one form, but 60MB of storage is a tight ceiling for teams that rely on file attachments. Automation rules, time tracking and more than 50 native integrations—including Slack, HubSpot, Google Drive, Salesforce, Zapier and Dropbox—round out its work-management scope.

ClickUp is made by a company founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Diego, California. Its page lists SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications and GDPR and HIPAA compliance. The Free plan includes 24/7 support, and ClickUp advertises a 100% money-back guarantee.

Key features

Views, automation and integrations

The range of views is useful when a team needs to inspect work in different formats, while time tracking and automation rules extend the platform beyond task lists. Automation capacity changes substantially by plan, from 100 executions to 250,000 executions. That makes plan choice consequential for teams with recurring or high-volume workflows; the largest stated allowance is on Enterprise.

More than 50 native integrations connect ClickUp with tools such as Slack, Google Drive and Salesforce. This breadth can help teams keep work connected to common services, though the free plan's small storage allowance may still make it a poor fit for file-heavy work.

Guests and Workspace billing

Paid plans include limited external guest seats and unlimited read-only guests. Free-plan guests instead have full create and edit permissions, and those permissions cannot be changed. That distinction matters for teams sharing work externally: free access does not offer the same control over guest editing as paid access. Billing is charged separately for each Workspace, so teams should account for every Workspace when comparing plan costs.

Pricing

ClickUp uses a freemium model, with Free Forever at 0.00 USD per free and paid plans starting at $7/user/mo (annual). The listed plan prices and allowances are:

Free Forever: 0.00 USD per free; 60MB storage, unlimited tasks, unlimited free plan members and one form. It is a substantial starting point for teams that can work within the storage cap and do not need adjustable guest permissions.
Unlimited: 10.00 USD per month (billed yearly); unlimited storage, unlimited Gantt charts, unlimited integrations and unlimited custom fields. This suits teams that have outgrown the free storage and feature limits, but its annual billing term should be weighed against the monthly price presentation.
Business: 19.00 USD per month (billed yearly); 5,000 automations per month, unlimited dashboards, unlimited activity views and unlimited timeline views. It is aimed at teams that need the higher workflow allowance and expanded views, at a higher listed annual-billing price.
Enterprise: custom pricing through sales; 250,000 automations per month and unlimited custom roles. This is the option for organizations needing the highest stated automation capacity and role flexibility.
Brain AI: 9.00 USD per month, billed $9 per user/month; includes unlimited Brain Assistant and AI chat. It is a separate AI plan rather than a replacement for the work-management plans.
AI Free Forever: free AI plan with trial access to advanced AI features; no price is listed.

ClickUp offers a free trial and a 100% money-back guarantee. The free tier requires no credit card. Because each Workspace is billed separately, multi-Workspace teams should calculate the combined cost rather than treating one plan price as covering all their workspaces.

Platforms

ClickUp has apps for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. That gives teams supported desktop and mobile options across the major platforms named for the product.

Who it's for

ClickUp is a strong fit for teams that want multiple work views, time tracking, integrations and automation in one work-management product, and can select a plan around their storage and execution needs. The free plan is particularly useful for teams that need unlimited tasks and members and can keep files within 60MB. Teams sharing work with external guests who need restricted editing, or organizations with several separately billed Workspaces, should scrutinize those terms before settling on a plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited tasks and members on Free Forever let a team start without seat or task-count caps.
Pro: Five named views, time tracking and more than 50 native integrations support varied ways of coordinating work.
Pro: Paid plans include unlimited read-only guests, useful when external collaborators should view work without editing it.
Con: The free plan's 60MB storage limit is restrictive for teams that attach many files.
Con: Free-plan guest permissions are full create and edit access and cannot be modified, limiting control over external collaborators.
Con: Separate Workspace billing can raise the total for teams that organize work across multiple Workspaces.

Verdict

Choose ClickUp if your team wants varied work views, integrations and automation alongside a free tier with unlimited tasks and members. Its main appeal is the breadth of work-management capabilities across free and paid plans; look elsewhere if 60MB of free storage, fixed full-edit guest permissions or per-Workspace billing do not fit how your team works.
