Overview

Contractbook combines contract drafting, review, e-signature, storage, and ongoing tracking for teams managing agreements across their lifecycle. It is best suited to companies with 11–1,000 employees that need more than a way to collect signatures. Its workflow breadth is a strength, but annual billing and contract limits on several plans make volume and seat needs central to the buying decision.

Key features

Drafts can be pre-filled from a CRM, forms, or other tools, and teams can work from pre-approved templates. Approval workflows, suggestions, comments, and version history support review; together, those tools suit teams that need a structured process rather than ad hoc document exchange.

Legally binding electronic signatures include signing order, identity verification, and two-factor signing. Recipients can open and sign without a Contractbook account, which avoids requiring external parties to join the service. After signing, teams can bulk-import existing contracts, scan and extract data, organize and search records, and manage access with permissions. Contract data can also drive deadline and renewal reminders and customizable post-signature tasks.

Contractbook advertises more than 3,000 integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Google Calendar, Slack, Zapier, and Make.com, alongside API access. That breadth can connect contract work to existing tools, though the value depends on which integrations a team actually uses. The company states that the service is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant, has completed Google Partner Security Program assessments, and uses SHA-256 RSA SSL encryption, encrypted password and token storage, verified email and phone accounts, two-factor signatures, and regular black-box penetration testing.

Pricing

Contractbook uses a freemium model, with a 14-day trial that requires no credit card and includes all features; afterward, access is limited to the Free plan. All plans include live chat, email, and phone support, while some also include a dedicated success manager.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Essential	Custom pricing	1 user, 100 signed contracts/year, 5 templates
Centralize	399.00 USD per month, billed annually	5 users, 15 templates, 350 signed contracts/year, AI data extraction, CSV export, .docx download
Accelerate	Custom pricing	10 users, 25 templates, 500 signed contracts/year
Custom	Custom pricing	Tailored setup, initial setup consultancy, 1:1 Customer Success Manager support
Growth	599.00 USD per month, billed annually	Unlimited users and contracts, conditional templates, automations, SSO, dedicated success manager

Essential's one-user allowance and 100 annual signed contracts suit a small operation with modest volume, but the five-template cap and custom pricing mean it is not a published low-cost entry point. Centralize raises capacity to five users and 350 signed contracts a year and adds extraction and export tools; its annual billing is a meaningful commitment, and the contract quota still matters for busy teams. Accelerate's 10 seats and 500 annual signed contracts target larger workloads, though the price is custom. Growth removes user and contract caps and adds automations and SSO, making it the clearest fit for organizations with heavier or less predictable volume, at 599.00 USD per month billed annually. Custom is aimed at buyers who need a tailored setup and dedicated initial support rather than a fixed package.

Platforms

Contractbook is a cloud service with web and API platforms. Its contract review workflow runs in a web browser, so the listed platform mix favors browser-based work and integrations rather than a separately listed desktop or mobile app.

Who it's for

Contractbook fits teams that want drafting, approval, signature, repository, and renewal tracking connected in one workflow, particularly companies in the 11–1,000 employee range. Teams with external signers benefit from account-free recipient signing. Buyers should look elsewhere if they need a published price for every tier, or if their expected signed-contract volume exceeds a plan's annual allowance without moving to Growth.

Pros and cons

Pro: The process spans drafting through renewal reminders, reducing the need to treat signing and post-signature tracking as separate tasks.
Pro: Approval history, suggestions, comments, and version history give teams tools for controlled review, while recipient account-free signing lowers friction for counterparties.
Pro: Repository import, scanning, extraction, search, and permissions support bringing existing agreements into the same workflow.
Con: Essential, Accelerate, and Custom use custom pricing, so buyers cannot compare their costs from a fixed monthly figure.
Con: Essential, Centralize, and Accelerate cap signed contracts annually; teams with high or unpredictable volume may need Growth's higher-cost unlimited tier.
Con: The priced Centralize and Growth plans are billed annually, which is less flexible than a monthly commitment.

Alternatives

For a different contract-management fit, compare Contract Management Software, AI Contract Generators, Contract Lifecycle Management Software, Contract Negotiation Software, Legal Contract Management Software, and Document Workflow Software.

OpenCLM is worth considering for teams seeking a self-hosted platform or a free plan with unlimited contracts, though its free plan allows 1 user and 5 e-signatures per month. Legito has a free plan with customizable workflows and approvals, and a Starter plan at 6.90 EUR per month. fynk offers a free plan for individuals and freelancers with one user and 50 AI credits per user per month. Zoho Contracts may suit a small team that can work within its free plan's 3 users, 10 contracts, 5 counterparties, 1 approval workflow, and 2 built-in templates. Docusign CLM is an alternative for buyers prepared to contact sales for pricing. Trackado offers a free plan capped at 1 user, 15 contracts, and 2 custom fields. Oneflow has a free plan for unlimited PDF contracts, while its Business and Enterprise plans have minimums of 5 and 10 users. SpotDraft may fit buyers seeking in-house implementation and dedicated customer success with 24/7 support; its price depends on users or contract volume.

Verdict

Choose Contractbook if your organization wants one connected system for contract preparation, approvals, signing, repository management, and renewal tracking, with enough workflow depth to justify its annual commitment. Look elsewhere if fixed prices and flexible monthly terms matter more, or if a small team can meet its needs with a simpler capped free plan.
