Overview

CrewLogic is airline crew planning and administration software for carriers that need rosters shaped by operating rules, qualifications and rest requirements. It suits airlines bringing scheduling, crew records, training and operational reporting into a dedicated system. Its breadth is compelling, but the paid, custom-priced product and airline-specific deployment needs make it a considered procurement rather than a quick roster tool.

Key features

Planning and day-of-operation control

The optimiser allocates duties against airline-defined distributions of flight types and destinations while accounting for qualifications, recent experience and rest. A configurable rules engine can combine company and authority requirements, with EASA and CAP371 default sets. That combination is useful for airlines balancing preferred schedules with crew constraints and compliance; it is more specialised than a basic shift calendar. Real-time crew control, roster distribution, regulation displays and pairing swaps extend the system into operational changes, not just initial planning.

Crew records and training

Records can bring together availability, preferences, qualifications, languages, crew base and passport or visa validity with personal details. Training functions cover flight and ground events, results, recurrent checks, qualifications and alerts. These tools give planners and administrators relevant crew and training records in the same system, though airlines should assess how its record and alert workflows fit their existing processes.

Roster access and reporting

Web access can give crew members individual rosters, changes, messages, and holiday or flight requests. CrewWebPlus is an optional addition for roster, message and briefing access; CrewConnect is an optional native Android and iOS app for rosters, requests, preferences and change alerts. Mobile messaging is also described as an add-on, so airlines should confirm which access functions are included in their intended configuration.

Reports span rosters, duties, training, duty and flight hours, fatigue management and other crew statistics, with user-defined outputs and formats. That flexibility can serve airlines with varied reporting needs, although buyers should establish which outputs they require during evaluation. Connected APM products include SchedulePlanner, SmartOps, CrewSim, CrewWebPlus and CrewConnect. An integration with FRMSc’s SAFE Suite can support fatigue-risk tracking and predictive fatigue models, but requires a SAFE Suite licence and is for APM customers.

Pricing

CrewLogic is paid software with custom pricing; APM does not display a price. The product page offers a brochure and demonstration rather than a self-service purchase, so airlines should request a quote and confirm the scope of optional access and fatigue integrations. No plan tiers, seat limits, trial terms or renewal terms are stated.

Platforms

CrewLogic is offered for Android, iOS, web and Windows. APM’s infrastructure guidance specifies a supported Windows operating system for workstations and distinguishes Firebird database specifications for small and medium airlines from Oracle specifications for medium and large airlines. APM advises on recommended hardware before installation. This makes deployment planning an important part of selection, particularly for airlines assessing infrastructure fit.

Who it's for

CrewLogic is best suited to airlines that need regulated crew pairing and roster optimisation alongside qualification tracking, training administration, crew records and operational reporting. It is less suitable for buyers seeking transparent off-the-shelf pricing or a lightweight scheduling app: the price is custom and deployment involves airline infrastructure requirements. Day-to-day technical phone support is provided in French and English through APM’s UK representative and Swiss offices.

Pros and cons

Pro: Roster optimisation weighs airline-defined planning distributions against qualifications, experience and rest, supporting constrained crew assignment.
Pro: Crew administration, recurrent training and reporting sit alongside rostering, reducing the need to treat those functions as separate workflows.
Pro: Web and optional native mobile access give crew ways to view rosters and submit requests, with app change alerts.
Con: Custom pricing and a demonstration-led sales process make cost comparison less direct than with published plans.
Con: Database and workstation requirements mean buyers must evaluate infrastructure and installation needs, not only software features.
Con: Mobile app and SAFE Suite fatigue integration are optional or licence-dependent, so they may add scope beyond the core configuration.

Alternatives

Crew Scheduling Software is a useful starting point for comparing options in the category. Consider ISF Watchkeeper if maritime crew management is the better fit; it has Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows and API platforms, a free trial, and pricing by request. HASTUS is another paid option for buyers comparing crew software across Android, iOS and web. RadiantFleet, COMPAS and ProVerne Crew Management System are also paid alternatives with Android, iOS and web platforms. Signal adds API access to its Android, iOS and web platform set. AIMS may suit airlines looking for self-hosted as well as web access; its pricing and system information are handled by RFI, with airline crew and aircraft counts requested. Martide is a freemium alternative for maritime crew operations: its Operations plan is 249.00 USD per month for 50 onboard seafarers, with an extra-seafarer charge, while its Recruiting plan has no listed price.

Verdict

Airlines that need rule-aware roster optimisation tied to crew records, training and reporting should shortlist CrewLogic. Its strongest reason to choose it is the scope of crew operations handled together; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the combination of custom pricing and deployment requirements that demands a closer procurement review.
