Overview

Zety brings resume and cover-letter creation together with career articles, a resume checker, and recommended jobs matched to a resume. Resume import and role-tailored expert and AI-written content can help users start from existing material or move past a blank page. The checker flags more than 30 issues and offers a score and suggested improvements, but it does not replace individual feedback: Zety does not provide one-on-one career or resume advice.

The pricing page also includes Bold.Pro, a professional networking site where recruiters can find users. Zety says it maintains technical, physical, and administrative security measures, while acknowledging that no system can guarantee absolute security.

Key features

Resume and cover letter creation: Zety offers 18 resume templates and matching cover letter templates. Users can change colors, fonts, spacing, and section order, which gives more control than a fixed layout while keeping application documents coordinated.
ATS-oriented formatting: The templates use machine-readable layouts intended to be ATS-friendly. That is useful for applicants prioritizing parseable formatting, though visual customization still needs to serve readability.
Role-tailored writing and checking: Expert-written and AI-powered content is tailored to a target role, and the checker identifies 30+ issues with a score and improvement suggestions. These tools provide a self-service review, not personal career guidance.
Job matches: Instant recommendations are matched to a resume, extending the product beyond document creation. They may be useful while searching, but the core value remains the application materials.

Pricing

Zety uses a freemium model, but the plan choices require attention to what each download option and renewal term buys.

Basic Package: Custom pricing. It includes the resume and cover letter builder, templates, TXT downloads, and unlimited downloads, prints, and edits. It suits users who can work with plain-text files; it gives up the PDF and Word formats included in paid packages.
Pro Package: 1.95 USD per month for a billed 14-day trial; after 14 days, it auto-renews at 25.95 USD billed every 4 weeks. It includes PDF, Word, and TXT downloads, unlimited downloads, prints, and edits, plus resume checking and instant job matches. The trial is a low initial commitment, but the recurring charge is the term to weigh before signing up.
Pro Package — recurring: Custom pricing. It includes multiple download formats, unlimited downloads, prints, and edits, resume checking, and instant job matches. It fits users who want the full toolset without choosing the stated trial offer.
Annual Package: Custom pricing. It includes multiple formats, unlimited downloads, prints, and edits, resume checking, and instant job matches. It may suit users who prefer an annual package, but the price is custom.
Pro Package — 14-day trial: Custom pricing. The trial includes multiple formats and unlimited downloads, prints, and edits. Since resume checking and job matches are attached to the recurring Pro description rather than this trial description, do not assume they are included in this offer.

The free package’s TXT-only downloads are a meaningful constraint if an application needs a formatted PDF or Word document. Zety says customers can cancel by contacting support by phone or chat, or through My Plan in the account dashboard.

Platforms

Zety runs on the web and has no mobile app. It is therefore best for applicants comfortable preparing documents in a browser rather than choosing a dedicated mobile application.

Who it's for

Choose Zety if you want templates, role-tailored writing, resume checking, and resume-matched job recommendations in a single web-based workflow. It is less suitable if you need personal coaching or rely on free PDF and Word downloads.

Pros and cons

Pro: Resume and matching cover letter templates, with controls for color, fonts, spacing, and section order, support coordinated documents without locking users into one appearance.
Pro: AI and expert-written role-tailored content, resume import, and a checker covering 30+ issues can reduce the effort of drafting and revising.
Con: Free downloads are TXT only, so users needing PDF or Word must choose a paid package.
Con: The 1.95 USD per month trial offer renews at 25.95 USD every 4 weeks after 14 days; missing that change can make the initial price misleading.
Con: The checker is not personal advice, and there is no mobile app for users who want a phone-based workflow.

Alternatives

Consider MyPerfectResume if Android or iOS access matters; it also has a free plan and trial, with a Basic Access plan offering unlimited TXT downloads. Resume Genius is another web and mobile option: its free plan gives TXT resume downloads but PDF, Word, and TXT cover letter downloads, alongside a US-only job board. Choose Enhancv if its plan structure of one resume and 15 entries on Basic or 10 resumes on Pro better matches your needs. Kickresume offers a free plan with four basic resume templates and four matching cover letter templates, and has no free trial. Resume.io is a web-only alternative with a seven-day trial and a premium monthly renewal plan. ResumeBuilder.com offers free unlimited TXT downloads and a 1.95 USD 14-day access option. CakeResume has a free plan with one resume and 60 Cake AI credits per month, plus web and mobile access. CVwizard is another freemium option with Android, iOS, and web access and a 0.99 USD one-time 14-day trial offer.

Verdict

Zety is a sensible choice for job seekers who want guided resume and cover letter creation, ATS-oriented templates, and a checker with job recommendations in one web service. Its main reasons to look elsewhere are the free tier’s TXT-only output, the trial’s automatic renewal at 25.95 USD every four weeks, and the absence of personal advice or a mobile app.
