Overview

YouCam Perfect is a mobile photo and video editor for iPhone, iPad, and Android, best suited to people who want portrait retouching, creative AI tools, and everyday edits in one app. Its range is a strength; the main trade-off is that frequent use of advanced AI features means paying for Premium.

It is a stronger fit for broad personal editing than for someone who only needs a dedicated video upscaler. Basic tools are free, while paid plans remove usage limits and unlock advanced AI features.

Key features

AI editing and image generation

The AI Editing Agent accepts plain-language instructions for tasks such as changing a background or creating a collage, and can generate images. Text-to-image generation and image-to-image restyling add creative options, with image models including GPT-Image-2, Flux, Seedream 4.0, and Imagen 4. That breadth suits users who want to move between edits and generated variations on a phone, but it is less useful if image generation is not part of the workflow.

The object remover can erase people, watermarks, and other distractions, then fill the background. It is a practical cleanup tool alongside crop, rotate, adjustments, and basic enhancement. Batch editing, layers, and masks also support more involved photo workflows. The free download includes basic tools and collage templates, but Premium is the route to advanced AI features and removal of usage limits.

Portrait, collage, and video tools

Face retouching, face reshaping, virtual makeup, and body reshaping make the app particularly relevant to portrait editing. Those options offer considerable control for users who want appearance-focused edits, but will be a poor match for readers who prefer a more restrained photo workflow.

The collage maker has more than 100 templates and layouts, making it useful for assembling images without leaving the app. Video enhancement can sharpen detail, brighten colors, and upscale footage to 4K; the product also names Kling AI, Google Veo, Seedance, and Wan AI for video creation. This extends its reach beyond still photos, though someone focused only on video enhancement may prefer a specialist tool.

Pricing

YouCam Perfect is freemium. The Free plan is free and includes free tools and templates; it is the sensible starting point for basic adjustments, effects, and collages. Its trade-off is limited use of advanced AI features.

YouCam Perfect Premium (1 Month) costs 4.99 USD per month, billed monthly. Premium - Pro (Yearly) costs 59.99 USD per year, billed yearly. Both are Premium subscriptions, which unlock advanced AI features and remove usage limits. The monthly plan fits someone who wants flexibility, while the yearly plan is for regular users willing to commit annually. Prices may vary by region and promotion.

Free trials are available for yearly subscription plans, with availability varying by region and promotion. Check the applicable renewal terms before subscribing; no trial length is stated.

Platforms

YouCam Perfect is available on iOS and Android. The iPhone and iPad app requires iOS 16.0 or later; the Android app is distributed through Google Play. Its mobile focus makes it a convenient choice for phone-based editing, but it is not a desktop option.

The maker says the app may collect account email, device identifiers, usage data, and user-uploaded photos and videos for editing and AI features. It describes technical and organizational security measures. Users can contact support in the app through Settings → Send Feedback.

Who it's for

Choose YouCam Perfect if you want one mobile app for routine photo adjustments, portrait edits, collages, generative image work, and some video enhancement. It is especially suited to users who will make regular use of several of those capabilities, rather than pay for a broad toolkit to solve one narrow problem. Readers who need only basic edits can stay on Free; frequent use of advanced AI points toward Premium.

Pros and cons

Pro: Combines photo adjustments, object removal, portrait tools, collages, image generation, and video enhancement in a mobile app, reducing the need to switch between specialized apps.
Pro: The free download includes effects, crop and rotate, adjustments, basic enhancement, and collage templates, so basic editing does not require a subscription.
Pro: Video enhancement can upscale to 4K, a useful extra for users whose editing spans both photos and video.
Con: Advanced AI features and unrestricted use require Premium, so the free plan may not suit frequent users of generative tools.
Con: The app collects uploaded photos and videos for editing and AI features, which may concern users who would rather not send personal media to a service.
Con: Its portrait and body reshaping tools are not aligned with every editor’s priorities.

Alternatives

For narrower video-upscaling needs, compare video upscaling software and Media.io AI Video Upscaler, which has a free trial with 3 daily check-in credits, one video, 720p exports, a watermark, and 1GB of cloud storage. NextGenUp is a free option for readers seeking an open-source tool with no subscription, watermark, or account requirement. For desktop video enhancement, Aiarty Video Enhancer has Windows and macOS versions; its free version limits videos to under 120 seconds, adds a watermark, and excludes batch export. HitPaw VikPea is another video-enhancement alternative, with a one-month Windows license at 43.19 USD per month that automatically renews and can be canceled at any time.

If you want to compare image-focused tools, browse AI image enhancers, AI photo editors, or photo editing software. Remaker AI sells credits as one-time purchases, from 200 credits for 5.99 USD to 20,000 credits for 299.00 USD; TensorPix offers a free web-based plan with weekly login credits and 720p input. Vmake Labs offers 20 daily free credits at up to 720p, while its Plus and Pro plans provide higher allowances. Real-CUGAN is a free, open-source model with downloadable packages and no paid tiers or usage limits stated.

Verdict

YouCam Perfect is a good choice for mobile editors who want portrait retouching, collages, AI image tools, and video enhancement under one roof. Its free tools make it easy to start, and Premium makes sense for regular advanced-AI use; look elsewhere if you need a desktop workflow, a focused video upscaler, or a basic editor without appearance-focused tools.
