Overview

Creation starts with choices for genre, mood, instruments and structure; users can then adjust elements or regenerate a selected passage without discarding the rest of the song. That makes it useful when a composition needs focused revision. Vocal generation, audio upload, stem export and MP3 or WAV output extend the workflow beyond generating a finished track in one pass.

Generation uses 900 credits per minute. The Free plan’s 10,000 monthly credits work out to roughly 11 minutes, for personal use only. Self-Serve paid plans permit online and offline commercial use subject to exclusions, but commercial rights vary by tier. Spotify and Apple Music release is a plan feature, so a low-cost subscription should not be assumed to include it.

Key features

Directed creation and section editing: Set musical attributes, then revise just the section that needs work. This is the product’s clearest advantage for creators refining a track rather than accepting a first generation.
Stems and audio export: Stem editing and MP3 or WAV export give editors more ways to use generated material in a wider production workflow.
API generation: Music v1 and v2 are available through ElevenAPI, with generation, audio reference, inpainting and long-form composition. This suits developers building music creation into another workflow.
Language and commercial workflows: Music v2 supports English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and more. Generated tracks can be used in ads, branded content, games, film and video workflows, subject to subscription rights and exclusions.
Marketplace: Creators can publish tracks and earn when others download, remix or use them. That offers a route to share work, though no earnings are guaranteed.

Pricing

Plans offer monthly and yearly billing. The monthly prices below make the credit-to-cost trade-off easier to compare; at 900 credits per minute, the stated minute allowances are approximate generation ceilings rather than guarantees of a finished song.

Plan	Price	Allowance and terms
Free	Free	10,000 credits per month; personal use only.
Starter	6.00 USD per month	30,000 credits, about 33 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations; commercial use allowed, but no streaming.
Creator	22.00 USD per month	121,000 credits, about 134 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations; commercial use allowed, but not enterprise.
Pro	99.00 USD per month	600,000 credits, about 667 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations; commercial use allowed, but not enterprise.
Scale	299.00 USD per month	1,800,000 credits and 3 seats.
Business	990.00 USD per month	6,000,000 credits and 10 seats.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Custom credits, seats, terms and assurance, custom SSO, and priority support.

Free is suitable for trying personal projects, but its quota and rights rule it out for commercial releases. Starter is the lowest-cost paid option for modest commercial work, but excludes streaming. Creator and Pro raise the monthly credit ceiling while retaining two concurrent generations and excluding enterprise use; choose between them based on expected volume. Scale and Business add seats alongside much larger quotas, making them better suited to teams. Enterprise is the option for custom terms and priority support.

Platforms

Eleven Music runs on the web. Its API is available through ElevenAPI, but the product’s supported platform is web rather than a listed mobile or desktop app.

Who it's for

Eleven Music is best for video makers, advertisers, game and film workflows, and developers who need to generate and revise music within a production process. The targeted editing and API are meaningful advantages for those users. It is a weaker fit for someone seeking a high-volume free tool, personal mobile app, or guaranteed commercial and streaming rights on the cheapest paid tier.

Pros and cons

Pros

Regenerate a chosen section rather than rebuilding a whole track, which supports more controlled revision.
Stem editing, vocal generation, audio upload and MP3 or WAV export support a broader creation and editing workflow.
API access includes audio reference, inpainting and long-form composition, useful for integrating music generation into other products.

Cons

At 900 credits per minute, Free covers only about 11 minutes monthly and is restricted to personal use.
Starter allows commercial use but excludes streaming; commercial rights vary by tier and remain subject to exclusions.
The supported platform is web, which may not suit users looking for a native mobile or desktop app.

Alternatives

Browse AI music generators for other options. Choose Suno if Android or iOS access matters more than a web-only platform. Udio is another freemium option, with iOS and web access. Treblo is worth considering if you want web, iOS and Android access alongside generation, inpainting, extending, stem separation and downloads in multiple formats. MusicWave.ai is a web-based alternative with a free plan for personal use. SongUp AI is another web-based freemium option. Mubert offers web, iOS and Android access, with a free plan capped at 25 tracks and 5 downloads per month. MakeBestMusic supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Wubble is a web-based alternative with unlimited generation minutes on its free plan, but three total downloads.

Verdict

Choose Eleven Music if you need to shape generated tracks through section edits, stems or an API, and can match your credit allowance and usage rights to the project. Look elsewhere if your priority is unrestricted free use, native mobile access or streaming rights on the least expensive paid plan.
