Overview

FamilyWall combines a shared calendar with shopping and to-do lists, a contact book and private family messaging. Messages can include text, voice, photos and video, and users can make as many private groups as they want for relatives, friends or neighbors. This makes it a broader coordination hub than a family calendar alone, but may be more than a household needs if its only goal is to share dates.

Shopping lists work offline, which is useful in stores with unreliable connectivity. Premium adds two-way Google and Outlook calendar sync, a budget tracker, meal planner, timetable, family locator, place alerts and 25 GB of storage. The privacy policy describes restricted access to personal information as part of its security procedures; it also says personal information may be processed or stored internationally and that the service is not intended for children under 13.

Key features

Shared schedules and lists

The shared calendar brings family schedules together, while shopping and to-do lists help coordinate routine tasks. Calendar sync with Google and Outlook is reserved for Premium, so families relying on an existing calendar service will need a paid plan to keep schedules connected in both directions. The free plan still covers shared calendar use, lists, messaging and a contact book.

Planning and location tools

Premium’s budget tracker, meal planner and timetable extend the service into household planning rather than just event coordination. Its locator and place alerts can support everyday awareness, but FamilyWall’s privacy policy says location shows a family member’s last explicitly posted position and is not suitable for emergencies. Users can withdraw location consent by turning off Locate in their device settings.

Pricing

FamilyWall uses a freemium model. Free is free and includes the shared calendar, shopping lists, to-do lists, messenger and contact book. It is a credible starting point for households that do not need calendar sync or Premium planning features.

Premium costs 4.99 USD per month when billed monthly, or 44.99 USD per year when billed annually. Both plans include Premium features and apply to the first 5 circles. Premium adds the budget tracker, meal planner, timetable, Google and Outlook sync, family locator, place alerts and 25 GB of storage. The annual price is lower than paying the monthly rate for a full year, but requires annual billing; monthly billing costs more over twelve months while avoiding that commitment. A 30-day trial gives households a chance to assess the paid features before deciding.

Platforms

FamilyWall runs on Android, iOS and the web. Its mobile apps support families who coordinate on phones, while web access gives members another way to use the shared service.

Who it's for

Choose FamilyWall if your household wants calendars, offline shopping lists, tasks and private messaging together, or if two-way Google or Outlook sync justifies a paid plan. It is less compelling for families that only need a shared calendar, and its locator should not be relied on for emergency tracking. The privacy terms may also be a concern for households that prefer personal information to remain within one country.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan covers shared calendars, shopping and to-do lists, messaging and contacts, so basic coordination does not require a subscription.
Pros: Offline shopping lists are useful when connectivity is poor during errands.
Pros: Premium combines two-way Google and Outlook sync with meal, budget and timetable tools for households that want more than calendar sharing.
Cons: Calendar sync and the expanded planning and location features require Premium.
Cons: Premium is limited to the first 5 circles, which may matter to users organizing across several groups.
Cons: Location sharing is based on an explicitly posted last position and is not an emergency service.

Verdict

FamilyWall is a sound choice for households that want one place for shared schedules, errands and family communication, with Premium sync and planning tools available as needs grow. Its free tier is useful on its own, but families who need Google or Outlook synchronization must pay. Look elsewhere if all you need is a calendar, or if you need location tracking suitable for emergencies.
