Overview

Folio captures application screens for editing into demos and annotated guides. Teams can share demos as direct links or embed them, then review viewer behavior and statistics for tours, demos, and individual screens. Lead capture, personalization, and custom branding extend the demos beyond a basic product walkthrough.

The integration roster includes Gmail, Intercom, Google Drive, Segment, Google Calendar, Zapier, HubSpot, OpenAI, Marketo, Slack, and Salesforce. That breadth may suit teams connecting demos to existing sales and marketing workflows. Folio also describes team collaboration, though the specific workspace management, permissions, and demo and template collaboration features are on Team, not the single-user lower tiers.

Key features

Creation and engagement

The no-code editor and screen capture offer a way to build interactive explanations without a coded demo. Annotated guides help structure a walkthrough, while viewer analytics can show engagement at tour, demo, and screen level. Free includes unlimited demo steps, screens, and views, but only two Basic Demos and two Basic Templates; that is enough to explore the format, not to maintain a broad catalog.

Sharing and access

Direct links and embeds support different routes to an audience. Personalization and lead capture add useful options for teams using demos in customer-facing work. Pro adds Secure Demo Access, while Enterprise adds Open APIs and SAML SSO integrations. Folio's Free plan also includes a Gmail add-on and Chrome/Edge extension.

Pricing

Folio has a free plan, a 14-day trial, and paid plans priced per user. The annual-billing prices are shown as monthly rates billed annually: Lite is $25 per month/user (annually, save 15%), Pro is $42 per month/user (annually, save 15%), and Team is $59 per month/user (annually, save 15%). Monthly billing is $29 per month/user for Lite, $49 for Pro, and $69 for Team. Customers may cancel at any time; the current plan continues until the billing cycle ends.

Free — $0 per month/user: One user, up to two Basic Demos and two Basic Templates, unlimited demo steps/screens and views, plus a watermark. It is a sensible evaluation tier, but the caps and watermark constrain polished or extensive use.
Lite — $25 per month/user annually or $29 monthly: One user, up to 15 Basic Demos, HTML Capture, and Basic Support. It raises the demo ceiling without removing it, making it a fit for a small library rather than teams that need unlimited demos.
Pro — $42 per month/user annually or $49 monthly: One user, unlimited demos and templates, Advanced Integrations, and Secure Demo Access. This is the step up for an individual who has outgrown Lite's 15-demo limit.
Team — $59 per month/user annually or $69 monthly, with a two-user minimum: Multiple users, Workspace Management, Team Permissions, Demo/Template Collaboration, and Priority Support. The minimum makes this a more expensive commitment than a solo plan, but it is the tier with explicit shared-workspace controls.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Multiple teams, Open APIs, SAML SSO integrations, Dedicated Support, and custom data retention policies. It is aimed at organizations needing those access and administration options rather than a published per-seat price.

Platforms

Folio runs on the web and is offered as an API and browser extension. The Free plan specifically includes a Gmail add-on and Chrome/Edge extension. These options complement its link-sharing and embedding, though they do not change the plan limits on demos or seats.

Who it's for

Folio is a considered choice for growth, sales, and product teams that need interactive walkthroughs, viewer reporting, and ways to personalize or capture leads. A solo user can start free, then choose Lite for a limited library or Pro for unlimited demos and templates. Teams needing shared permissions and collaboration should account for Team's two-seat minimum. Organizations requiring SAML SSO, APIs, or custom retention can consider Enterprise.

Privacy-conscious buyers should weigh Folio's stated caveats: it uses commercially acceptable measures to protect personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security, and personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Eligible users have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port data, and to withdraw consent.

Pros and cons

Pros: Screen capture, a no-code editor, annotated guides, and viewer analytics bring demo creation and engagement reporting together.
Pros: Link sharing, embeds, personalization, lead capture, and custom branding support customer-facing use.
Pros: Pro removes demo and template caps, while Enterprise offers SAML SSO and custom retention policies.
Cons: Free allows only two Basic Demos and two Basic Templates and adds a watermark, limiting its usefulness beyond evaluation.
Cons: Team requires at least two users, so a solo buyer cannot pay for just the collaboration controls it offers.
Cons: Personal data may be processed in the United States, and Folio does not guarantee absolute security.

Alternatives

For other options, browse Interactive Product Demo Software. Floik is another freemium choice, with a Starter allowance of five published Flos, ten created Flos, five-minute recordings, and 25 guide steps per Flo, plus a Pro plan at $39.00 USD per month. Supademo is also freemium; its free plan includes one creator/admin, five guided interactive demos, and 50 4K video recordings. Guideflow has a free plan and a Solo plan at $35.00 USD per month billed yearly, with unlimited guideflows, advanced analytics, AI demo content, video and GIF export, and AI translation.

Storylane offers a free plan with one seat, one published demo, unlimited demo views, an AI content assistant, and voiceovers; its Starter plan is $40.00 USD per month. TestBox is another freemium alternative, with a free Data Generator plan that includes 2k records, two tables, unlimited collaborators, 200 free daily records, and no record rollover. Verdict

Choose Folio if you are a growth, sales, or product team that wants no-code interactive demos with viewer analytics, sharing, and personalization in the same tool. Its strongest reason to buy is the combination of demo creation and audience reporting, with Pro offering unlimited demos and templates. Look elsewhere if a two-demo free ceiling is too restrictive, if you need shared controls without a two-seat minimum, or if Folio's stated U.S. data processing and security caveat does not suit your requirements.
