Overview

Fonteva brings membership, events, payments, communities, eCommerce, and a developer framework into one suite built on Salesforce. Membership workflows include online joining and renewal, recurring dues, member records, directories, forms, reporting, communications, and a member portal. That range can consolidate association work, but its value depends on whether an organization wants its operations rooted in Salesforce.

Fonteva says its platform is native to Salesforce, with event data available in the CRM without a separate integration. That is a practical advantage for teams already using Salesforce as their operating environment. Customers must maintain a Salesforce subscription sufficient for their Fonteva use, however, so the platform dependency is both an architectural and ongoing cost consideration.

Key features

Membership and engagement

Member CRM, engagement scoring and badging, directories, join and renew workflows, automated renewals, recurring dues, forms, payments, and reporting address core membership administration. Online joining and a member portal extend those workflows to members, while communications tools support contact with the membership base. This breadth is more compelling for organizations seeking a connected association system than for those needing only a basic contact database.

Events and commerce

Fonteva Events supports in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, with configurable registration, speaker and sponsor management, agendas, microsites, attendee management, and reports. It can connect registration to virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom. The event toolkit covers both planning and participant administration, while the Salesforce foundation keeps event data in the CRM without a separate integration.

Branded storefronts, shopping carts, revenue accounting, configurable pricing, discounts, and source codes extend the suite into commerce. Fonteva Payments supports credit cards, ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna, as well as multicurrency payments. This is a broad set of payment and sales functions for organizations handling dues, events, or other online revenue.

Mobile, development, and support

Fonteva Mobile apps can be published through the Apple App Store and Google Play, with branded content, real-time updates, and push notifications. Fonteva says sensitive mobile data is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms and member login uses Salesforce single sign-on. Those capabilities tie mobile access to the Salesforce environment rather than presenting it as a separate membership system.

Fonteva Framework includes REST API endpoint configuration and custom endpoints for receiving and processing third-party data into Salesforce. The maker describes collaborative implementation, configuration, and training before, during, and after implementation, alongside documentation and on-demand online training. Software upgrades are included in the subscription, with Fonteva and Salesforce releasing multiple upgrades throughout the year.

Pricing

Fonteva is paid software with custom pricing on request. There is no published tier or seat, member, or event quota to compare, so prospective customers need a quote to assess the subscription against their scope. The key cost consideration is broader than Fonteva alone: customers are required to maintain a Salesforce subscription sufficient for their use of the platform.

That model may suit organizations evaluating a full association suite and prepared to budget for its Salesforce foundation. It is harder to assess for smaller organizations or buyers looking for a predictable, self-serve price before contacting the maker.

Platforms

Fonteva supports web, Android, iOS, and an API. Mobile apps can carry branded content, real-time updates, and push notifications, while the API framework supports custom endpoints for data flowing into Salesforce. The platform list is broad, though mobile login and the wider system remain tied to Salesforce.

Who it's for

Fonteva identifies associations, trade associations, professional societies, association management companies, customer user groups, membership organizations, and fraternities and sororities as intended users. It is the strongest fit for organizations in those groups that want membership, event, payment, and commerce operations together in Salesforce and can sustain the associated subscription. Organizations not seeking that Salesforce dependency should look at other membership platforms.

Pros and cons

Pros

Connected membership and event operations: CRM, renewals, recurring dues, event management, reporting, and member communications sit in a broad suite.
Salesforce-native event data: Fonteva says event records are available in the CRM without a separate integration, which suits organizations already centered on Salesforce.
Wide event and payment coverage: In-person, virtual, and hybrid events sit alongside multiple payment methods and multicurrency support.
Mobile and extension options: Branded mobile apps, push notifications, and configurable REST API endpoints support member access and third-party data flows.

Cons

Salesforce is required: Customers must maintain a sufficient Salesforce subscription, making Fonteva a poor fit for organizations that want to avoid that platform commitment.
Custom pricing: A quote is needed to judge subscription cost, so buyers cannot compare a published tier or per-seat price up front.
Salesforce-shaped operation: Mobile sign-in uses Salesforce single sign-on, and the product suite is built on Salesforce; organizations seeking a platform-independent setup should look elsewhere.

Alternatives

Raklet is worth considering for organizations seeking a freemium membership option: its Free plan is free, with 100 contacts, one admin seat, and 1,250 free emails per month. Fonteva is the broader Salesforce-centered suite; Raklet's free tier has clear contact, seat, and email limits.

WildApricot offers a free trial and a 100 Contacts plan at 66.00 USD per month, including a cloud-based membership and contact database and full customer support. It may suit buyers who want a published monthly entry price and a trial rather than custom-priced Salesforce software.

memberplanet has a free Basic plan with unlimited members and admins, while its Essentials plan is 50.00 USD per month with a 2% platform fee and 1,000 campaign allowance. It is a candidate for organizations comparing a freemium model and a published Essentials price with Fonteva's custom quote.

GrowthZone is another paid association option, with a Starter tier offering unlimited members and contacts, up to two users, and 5,000 emails per month. Its tier is worth comparing for teams focused on those stated contact, user, and email allowances.

ClubExpress is a paid alternative with member-count tiers and a free trial. It may be relevant to buyers who prefer a trial and membership-based plan structure.

PushPress offers a Free plan at no cost with no monthly fees, unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff, and stated card and ACH processing fees. It is worth considering for readers prioritizing a free plan with those unlimited user and member counts over Fonteva's Salesforce-centered association suite.

ChamberMaster is a paid alternative with Standard, Premier, and Plus package tiers.

MemberSuite is a paid alternative positioned for mid- to upper-market associations with complex membership needs and all-inclusive module access.

Verdict

Fonteva is a strong candidate for associations and membership organizations that want event, membership, payment, and commerce functions tied directly to Salesforce. Its main reason to choose it is the breadth of the suite combined with Salesforce-native data; its main reason to look elsewhere is the required Salesforce subscription, compounded by custom pricing. If Salesforce is already central to the organization and the combined system fits its needs, Fonteva merits consideration; if not, a platform with a clearer standalone cost and less Salesforce dependence is the better direction.
