Overview

Trust & Will is an online service for preparing or updating wills, trusts, and related estate-planning documents. It best suits people who want a coordinated set of state-specific documents, with optional ongoing membership or attorney access. Its breadth is useful, but the service prepares forms rather than giving legal advice, and the paperwork still has to be signed and notarized.

Key features

Document bundles

The Will Plan groups a Last Will & Testament with a HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. That makes it a more rounded choice than a will by itself for someone also addressing healthcare and financial decisions. The Trust Plan adds a revocable living trust, pour-over will, schedule of assets, and certification of trust alongside those core documents. It is the better fit when a trust is central to the plan, but costs substantially more than the Will Plan.

Membership and attorney access

Membership features include ongoing plan edits, digital downloads, document shipping, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an AI assistant. The Essentials membership adds personalized plan support, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an advanced AI assistant; it is aimed at people who value continued support and tools after creating a plan. Attorney Support adds one year of phone access to a licensed estate-planning attorney. It is a meaningful option for readers who want direct professional access, but it is not offered in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, or Tennessee.

Apps, security, and legal limits

The iOS and Android apps let members review documents and add or track assets, while editing documents and updating a plan require the website. The apps are useful for checking or organizing a plan away from a computer, not for making changes on the go.

Trust & Will says stored data is protected with AES 256-bit encryption and data in transit with TLS 1.2. It also says it has undergone SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA examinations that resulted in an independent CPA report and certification. After an account deletion request, associated information and documents are removed; security backups are removed 35 days later.

Plans are state-specific, and documents must be signed and notarized after receipt or download to become legally binding. Trust & Will is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, and its forms are not a substitute for an attorney. People who need individualized legal guidance should not treat document preparation as a replacement for counsel.

Pricing

The free Basic membership costs 0.00 USD per free and allows estate-plan creation without an ongoing membership. It is the lowest-commitment way to start, but the free plan does not include ongoing membership.

Essentials membership costs 49.00 USD per year ($49/year). It suits people who want personalized plan support, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an advanced AI assistant; the yearly renewal makes it a recurring expense rather than a one-time document purchase.

The Will Plan costs 199.00 USD per once (starting at $199) and includes a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. It is the more affordable document bundle for someone who does not need a trust. The Trust Plan costs 499.00 USD per once (starting at $499) and adds trust-specific documents, including a revocable living trust, pour-over will, schedule of assets, and certification of trust. That higher price is justified for readers who need those documents, not those seeking only a will.

Attorney Support costs 299.00 USD per once ($299 flat fee) for one year of phone access to a licensed estate-planning attorney. It can add a direct human resource to a document plan, subject to the state exclusions above. Customer support is included and available Monday through Friday. Trust & Will offers no free trial.

Platforms

Trust & Will runs on the web, Android, and iOS. Mobile apps support document review and asset tracking, while plan edits and updates are handled on the website. The service covers all 50 states, with state-specific plans.

Who it's for

Trust & Will is a sensible fit for individuals or households who want wills or trusts bundled with healthcare and financial documents, and who are prepared to complete the signing and notarization steps. The free plan lowers the barrier to creating an estate plan, while the paid bundles and attorney option let users choose how much document coverage and support they need. It is a weaker fit for anyone who expects the forms themselves to provide legal advice or wants to edit a plan entirely in a mobile app.

Pros and cons

Pros: The Will and Trust plans combine multiple estate-planning documents, so buyers can address related needs in one package.
Pros: A free plan supports estate-plan creation, and the paid options range from a yearly membership to one-time document and attorney-access fees.
Pros: Mobile apps support document review and asset tracking, and the service covers all 50 states.
Cons: Documents are not legally binding until signed and notarized after receipt or download, adding steps beyond online preparation.
Cons: The company does not provide legal advice, so the forms do not replace individualized legal counsel.
Cons: Plan editing and updates are limited to the website, and Attorney Support excludes seven states.

Verdict

Trust & Will is a strong choice for people who want a coordinated will or trust package, state-specific documents, and the option to add ongoing membership or attorney phone access. Its clearest reason to choose it is the range of bundled estate-planning documents, including trust-specific paperwork. Look elsewhere if you need legal advice rather than document preparation, or expect to edit your plan from a mobile app.
