Overview

IMS for Chiropractic is a chiropractic-focused EMR and practice management system for clinicians and office teams. It suits practices that want documentation, billing, scheduling, and workers’ compensation workflows in one platform. Its broad operational scope is compelling, but buyers should be comfortable discussing custom pricing and choosing between server and web-based deployment.

Key features

Clinical templates support SOAP and visit notes using pick lists, voice recognition, and image-based documentation; care plans and patient records are also supported. These tools suit clinics that want chiropractic-specific charting rather than a general-purpose record system. The patient portal adds access to visit summaries and test results, plus medication refill requests, giving patients a route to handle some routine tasks themselves.

Scheduling supports multiple offices and providers, with a phone reminder service tied to appointments. For a multi-provider front desk, that combination can bring coordination and reminders into the same workflow. Billing includes real-time claims scrubbing, electronic superbills, revenue cycle management, and a CPT coding advisor, making IMS relevant to practices managing insurance work in-house.

Workers’ compensation is a notable specialty strength: the system can generate and submit California PR-2 and PR-3 forms and New York C-4, C-4.2, and C-4.3 forms. Clinics with those state-specific caseloads may find this more directly useful than a system focused only on routine visits. A vitals interface transfers readings wirelessly into patient charts, and the product states compliance with HL7, CCD, and CCR. Listed integrations include Aegis Laboratories, Availity Clearing House, BillFlash patient statements, Labcorp, Quest Diagnostics, and Exact Payments.

The IMSGo app for iPhone and Android can access records and manage appointments, billing, labs, and visit notes. Its brochure describes SSL-encrypted communications, unique user logins, HIPAA compliance, and no PHI stored on the device. Remote hosting includes secure off-site servers, daily backups with disaster recovery options, and 24/7 security and firewall monitoring. Practices should distinguish this hosted option from an installation on their own server when evaluating deployment and security responsibilities.

Pricing

IMS for Chiropractic is paid software with custom pricing. That approach may suit practices whose needs require a vendor discussion, but buyers cannot use a published plan price to compare costs upfront. No free plan or trial terms are provided. Support and implementation are part of the buying conversation: the company describes project management, interface setup, technical engineering, customization, installation, training, and support. A one-to-five-physician clinic typically takes about eight weeks to implement, so this is not an instant, self-service switch.

Platforms

The product supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, and self-hosted deployment. It can be installed as a server or used as a web-based platform, with mobile access through IMSGo. The product page names Windows-based tablets, Android tablets, and iPads as supported devices. For offices with one to ten computers, listed server operating systems are Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, or 2022; practices considering self-hosting should account for that server requirement.

Who it's for

IMS is aimed at specialty-specific ambulatory practices, with chiropractic workflows and support for clinics of different sizes. Its multi-office scheduling, insurance billing tools, and workers’ compensation forms make it particularly relevant to practices with several providers or administrative staff handling complex claims. A small clinic can still be a fit, but should weigh the roughly eight-week implementation against its staffing and migration needs. The company says its customers are located across the United States.

Pros and cons

Pros: Chiropractic SOAP templates, voice recognition, images, and care plans address discipline-specific charting rather than generic records.
Pros: Multi-office scheduling, integrated phone reminders, claims tools, and a patient portal cover both office operations and patient access.
Pros: State-specific workers’ compensation forms and wireless vitals transfer offer practical value to clinics whose workflows depend on them.
Cons: Custom pricing makes cost comparison difficult before contacting the vendor.
Cons: Server deployment requires compatible Windows Server software for smaller offices, while implementation for a one-to-five-physician clinic typically takes about eight weeks.

Alternatives

Chiropractic Practice Software is a useful category starting point for comparing chiropractic systems. Consider Soap Notes instead if a freemium option matters: its Starter plan is free and caps use at five active clients. MERIDIQ may fit buyers prioritizing booking, with a 5.00 GBP per month per-user Booking plan and unlimited bookings and schedules. For a priced chiropractic EHR, zHealthEHR has an Essentials plan at 119.00 USD per month per provider, while its Professional plan is 249.00 USD per month.

ChiroScribe is another paid chiropractic option, with a Solo plan at 179.00 USD per month for individual practitioners and unlimited SOAP notes. ChiroSpring 360 may appeal to practices looking for messaging or AI add-ons: GrowthHub is 99.00 USD per month with 2,000 text messages and 2 cents per message overage, while ChiroSpring AI is a 49.00 USD per month add-on to Pro or Pro+. EZBIS offers an alternative with a 225.00 USD per month flat-rate cloud plan that includes records, patient accounting, billing, collections, scheduling, and patient features. PracticeEHR Chiropractic EHR is an alternative with multiple plans and unlimited patients, but no plan price is provided. WritePad EHR may suit a single-provider, single-site buyer: its plan starts at 99.00 USD per month, with a 495.00 USD setup installation fee.

Verdict

Choose IMS for Chiropractic if your clinic needs chiropractic-specific documentation alongside billing, scheduling, patient access, and workers’ compensation paperwork, especially for California or New York cases. Its breadth and implementation support are the main reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if you need an upfront price or a quick, self-directed deployment; custom pricing and an implementation measured in weeks make IMS a more deliberate purchase.
