Overview

HaulHQ is an operations platform for junk removal and dumpster rental businesses, combining lead capture, job coordination, payment collection, and customer follow-up. It suits operators who want those steps connected across web and mobile, especially if they can budget for per-job charges as work grows.

Its breadth is the appeal: inquiries can move from automated qualification and booking into dispatch, payment, and review requests. The trade-off is a usage-priced free base, with separate limits on messaging and fees that can add up with completed jobs.

Key features

Lead intake and booking

A zip-first form can prompt an immediate text and email reply, while an AI chatbot can qualify prospects, give price ranges, and book jobs. Quote management and online booking make this useful for operators trying to move inquiries into scheduled work without handling every step manually. The automated approach may be less compelling for a small business that prefers direct, personal intake.

Dispatch and field operations

Drag-and-drop dispatch, crew scheduling, route planning, and a calendar with arrival windows address the practical coordination demands of multiple jobs. A driver app extends the workflow to crews, and live crew location is opt-in. These tools are a stronger fit for businesses coordinating field teams than for solo operators with little dispatch complexity.

Payments and follow-up

HaulHQ supports Stripe card payments, payment links, invoices, and on-site card, cash, or check collection. Two-way texting, automated follow-ups, Google review requests, and a customer portal reached by magic link help carry communication beyond booking. The margin calculator estimates quote profit using disposal fees, labor, and fuel; revenue reporting adds a view of sales. These tools connect customer management with job economics, though card payments carry HaulHQ's fee in addition to Stripe's rate.

Website connection

The HaulHQ Bridge WordPress plugin provides booking, chatbot, forms, product, service, and review widgets, with integrations for Gravity Forms, WPForms, and Contact Form 7. A separate full website add-on includes location, service, and customer-story pages, two blog posts per month, and built-in booking and reviews. Plugin read requests send its API key to HaulHQ; form, chatbot, and booking submissions send visitor contact details to record a lead.

Pricing

The HaulHQ base plan costs $0/mo, with no monthly subscription or per-user fees. The first five jobs are free; after that, HaulHQ charges $1.50 per completed job and 1.5% on card payments, on top of Stripe's rate. HaulHQ fees are capped at $149/mo per service type. This model lowers the fixed cost for a new or seasonal operator, but makes job volume and payment mix important parts of the budget.

The free plan includes 100 text messages and 50 automated review requests each month, then charges separately for additional use. It also includes 5 GB of photo storage. Operators relying heavily on customer messaging should account for those monthly quotas rather than treating the free base as unlimited.

The Full website add-on costs $20/mo, billed separately outside the $149 cap. It is aimed at businesses that want website pages and content alongside booking and review tools; it is an additional recurring cost rather than part of the capped HaulHQ fees.

Platforms

HaulHQ runs on Android, iOS, and the web. Its apps are free in the app stores, and the browser version works on any device, giving office users and field crews access across common devices.

Who it's for

HaulHQ is best suited to junk removal and dumpster rental operators who need a connected path from lead capture through dispatch, payment, and follow-up. Businesses with multiple crews can make use of scheduling, routing, and driver tools; operators focused on margins may value quote-level cost estimates. It is less suitable for buyers who want predictable flat subscription pricing or who expect messaging use to exceed the included monthly amounts.

Pros and cons

Broad workflow coverage: Lead capture, booking, dispatch, payments, customer follow-up, and reporting sit within one platform, reducing the need to stitch together separate tools.
Low fixed entry cost: There is no monthly base subscription or per-user fee, and the first five jobs are free.
Variable fees need forecasting: Completed-job charges and card fees can make costs rise with usage, even with the per-service-type cap.
Messaging has monthly caps: The included text and review-request quotas may be restrictive for businesses with frequent automated outreach.
Website add-on is separate: The $20/mo website package is outside the fee cap, so it adds a distinct recurring cost.

Alternatives

Junk Removal Software is the broader category to browse if you want to compare tools before choosing a platform.

Choose BrainO if its free tier's three active projects and two team members suit your needs, or if you prefer its $149/mo Starter plan. Sendatradie is an option for businesses that can stay within its free tier of 30 jobs per month, which includes online booking, a mobile app, and job scheduling; its Starter plan is $89.00 per month.

JunkIt may suit a very small operation that can work within one seat, five estimates, and five jobs per month on its free plan; its free tier has no AI. Autopilot is a paid alternative with a $49/ month Run plan that includes one user, scheduling, jobs and dispatch, estimates with online approval, and invoicing.

1minutebooking is worth considering when a web-only booking tool is the priority; its $10 USD/month Pro plan adds a custom booking page, logo, removal of the platform badge, and Excel export. Cartoply offers a free personal scheduling page with Google Calendar and Outlook sync, custom event types and durations, and email confirmations, making it a narrower option for appointment scheduling.

Dumpster Controls may be preferable for dumpster operators who want unlimited orders, trucks, drivers, and customers on a free plan; optional card processing is 2.99% + $3.99 per transaction. APX Haul is a paid alternative whose $89.00 per month Starter plan covers one truck, up to two users, 250 texts per month, and processing at 3.9% + 30¢.

Verdict

HaulHQ is a strong fit for junk removal and dumpster rental businesses that want lead handling, field coordination, payments, and follow-up in one service, with no fixed monthly base fee. Choose it for that connected workflow and flexible entry cost; look elsewhere if you need a flat, predictable subscription or higher included messaging allowances.
