Overview

Upload an MP4 or MOV, or describe the audio you want with text. Sonilo analyzes visuals rather than the source audio, leaving the original soundtrack available to keep, adjust, replace or layer. Several variations come by default, and an optional text prompt can steer their style. That workflow is a good fit when you want new audio to follow a video without discarding dialogue or ambience; it is less compelling when text prompting alone will do, since text generation costs fewer credits.

Video-to-music and video-to-sound-effects each cost 18 credits per output second. Text-to-music costs 5 credits per second and text-to-sound-effects 4; generation has a 15-second and 200-credit minimum. The minimum can make a short request costlier than its duration suggests, while video-aware generation draws credits quickly on longer outputs.

Key features

Sonilo can translate speech, re-voice videos and re-render lip-sync, with SRT and VTT subtitle support. This makes it useful beyond soundtrack creation, though individual paid plans cap translation time by language. Its API covers all four video- and text-based generation modes, audio ducking, task polling and account usage. Plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro, Unity, Godot, Epic Games Fab, Roblox Studio and Defold bring the tools into several editing and development workflows.

Sonilo says its models use licensed music datasets, including content authorized through Shutterstock. That does not change the handling of your own material: uploaded videos, prompts, outputs and related data may be used for AI training and product improvement by default, without a separate opt-out. The service prohibits uploads containing minors’ data, facial-recognition or biometric data, voiceprints, government IDs, health information, highly sensitive personal information or confidential third-party business materials unless authorized in writing. That policy makes Sonilo a poor fit for sensitive footage or confidential projects.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and grants 2,000 credits every two weeks. That is enough for the stated allowance of seven 15-second video soundtracks, six minutes of text-to-music or eight minutes of text-to-sound-effects. Exports are preview quality; videos are limited to three minutes and 500 MB, with one task at a time. Free use is personal and non-commercial, so it is for evaluation rather than client or commercial work.

Pro costs 11.99 USD per month, billed yearly as $143.88. It includes 40,000 credits per month, up to eight-minute videos, 1.5 GB uploads, unlimited tasks and unlimited free downloads. The stated equivalents are 148 15-second video soundtracks, 133 minutes of text-to-music or 166 minutes of text-to-sound-effects. Pro also includes 800 seconds of video translation per language and commercial-use rights. It is the practical step up for regular commercial work, but annual billing and the credit budget still matter.

Premium costs 23.99 USD per month, billed yearly as $287.88. Its 100,000 monthly credits correspond to 370 15-second video soundtracks, 333 minutes of text-to-music or 416 minutes of text-to-sound-effects. It raises video length to 30 minutes and upload size to 3 GB, keeps unlimited tasks and free downloads, and expands translation to 2,000 seconds per language. Choose it when Pro’s credit or translation allowance is too tight; otherwise its higher annual commitment may be unnecessary.

Enterprise has custom pricing, volume credit rates, no minimum charge, 20 seats, custom credit and upload limits, a dedicated dashboard, an account manager and priority support. It is aimed at teams that need shared capacity and managed support. The pricing note gives a paid starting point of $4.99/mo (annual), but the stated Pro and Premium plan prices are higher.

Platforms

Sonilo is available on Android, iOS, web and API. Its editor plugins extend integration to Premiere Pro and several game-development platforms, including Unity and Godot.

Who it's for

Sonilo is strongest for video makers who want multiple visual-aware music or effects options, and for developers who need generation or audio ducking through an API. Translation and re-voicing make it relevant to localization workflows too. It is not the right choice for sensitive or confidential material under the default data-use policy, nor for non-commercial users who need commercial rights on the free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Visual-driven generation can follow pacing, mood and scene changes while leaving source audio available to preserve or adjust.
Pros: One service combines music, sound effects, translation, re-voicing, lip-sync re-rendering and an API.
Pros: Pro and Premium include commercial-use rights, unlimited tasks and free downloads.
Cons: Video generation costs 18 credits per second, and the 15-second and 200-credit minimums can weigh on short requests.
Cons: Free exports are preview quality, limited to one task, and non-commercial.
Cons: Default use of uploads and outputs for model improvement, alongside strict limits on sensitive uploads, rules it out for some projects.

Alternatives

Compare AI sound-effect generators if you want to survey tools focused on that category.

Mirelo is worth considering if you want audio models across macOS and Windows as well as web and API access; its Creator plan costs 20.00 EUR per month and includes 24,000 credits monthly and 20 projects.

HueFold is an alternative with a free plan and free trial on Android and web.

Morphic may suit a single web user seeking a free entry point, with up to 20 credits and limited models and workflows.

Pixazo AI SFX Generator offers a free trial with 100 bonus credits for seven days, but credits lapse after the trial and API access and commercial rights are excluded during it.

SeedAudio offers a web-based free start without sign-up for one generation up to 300 characters, then 20 credits on sign-up and generations up to 60 seconds.

Async is a broader media-chat option across API, iOS and web, with 10 lifetime AI credits, one hour of lifetime media upload to AI chat and exports up to 720p on its free plan.

Creen has Android, iOS and web apps; selected models have free, unlimited daily generation, while premium models may use credits.

AI SFX Lab gives web users 100 free credits per month, but its free plan limits generations to five seconds and does not include downloads or commercial use.

Verdict

Choose Sonilo if you need audio that responds to video visuals, or want generation and video translation tools in one workflow. The mix of input modes, integrations and commercial paid tiers is useful for active production, but credit costs climb with video output and the default product-improvement policy warrants caution. Look elsewhere for sensitive footage, or if text-only sound generation can meet your needs more economically.
