Overview

iMyFone MagicMic is a voice-changing app for gaming, streaming, calls and recorded audio. It is best suited to desktop users who want live voice effects and soundboard controls in one tool; mobile users get recording and audio editing instead. The choice hinges on that split, not on the breadth of its advertised voice library.

AI algorithms and RVC voice models generate its effects, and keyboard shortcuts can switch voices or play sound effects. MagicMic supports a range of communication and streaming apps, but its free tier limits users to five voices per day.

Key features

Live voice changes and soundboards

On desktop, MagicMic supports real-time voice changing and a virtual microphone, making it the relevant version for live games, streams and calls. Keyboard shortcuts let users trigger voice changes and sound effects without relying on on-screen controls. Supported examples include Discord, Skype, Zoom, Twitch, Xsplit and Streamlabs; the maker also names PUBG, League of Legends, Fortnite, CS:GO, Overwatch, OBS, YouTube, WhatsApp, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

The paid plans include 300+ original voices, unlimited soundboards, Voice Studio and one free Quick Voice Training each month. The product page advertises 100K+ soundboards, and the broader paid-version description says more than 500 voices; plan descriptions, however, promise 300+ voices. For choosing a subscription, the plan’s stated inclusion is the more useful measure.

Recorded audio and mobile use

Android and iOS support recording and changing recorded audio, with more than 60 voice filters for recordings and audio files. They do not provide live voice changing. That makes the mobile app a fit for editing clips, but not for someone expecting to alter their voice during a phone call or game session.

The online voice changer accepts MP3 or WAV uploads under 5 MB. That is a narrow option for short files, rather than a replacement for editing longer recordings.

Pricing

MagicMic is freemium, with a free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee advertised by the store. Paid plans renew automatically where stated, so users should account for the renewal terms as well as the initial price.

Free — 0.00 USD forever: Five free voices daily, basic sound effects and voice memes, recording and audio-file support, and 7/24 technical support. It works for occasional use, but the daily voice cap makes it a limited choice for regular variety.
Monthly — 9.99 USD per month: 300+ original voices, unlimited soundboards, Voice Studio and one free Quick Voice Training each month. It auto-renews and suits users who want the paid features without committing to a longer term.
Yearly — 45.99 USD per year: Includes the same paid features and monthly training allowance, with auto-renewal. It is the lower-cost ongoing option for users who expect to keep using MagicMic beyond a few months.
Lifetime — 59.99 USD one-time: Includes the same paid features and regular updates, without a recurring subscription price. It is aimed at users who prefer a one-time payment and expect to keep the software.

The monthly and yearly plans do not promise the same regular updates language as the lifetime plan, while the free plan omits the paid voice and soundboard allowances. A free trial is advertised for all programs, and the store offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Platforms

MagicMic supports Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, but functionality varies: real-time voice changing is a desktop feature, while mobile is for recordings and audio files. Windows support covers Windows 7, 8.1, 10 64-bit and 11. macOS support is listed from OS X 10.10 through macOS 12.1.

Who it's for

Choose MagicMic if you want live voice changes on a Windows or Mac desktop, particularly for games, streams or supported chat apps, and value shortcuts and soundboard playback. It is also suitable for mobile users who mainly want to record or edit audio with voice filters. Look elsewhere if you need real-time effects on Android or iOS, or if five free voices per day are not enough and you do not want a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Desktop live changing, recorded-audio support and a virtual microphone cover both live and edited use cases.
Pros: Keyboard controls and compatibility examples across games, calls and streaming apps make it practical for more than one kind of session.
Pros: Four plan options include a free tier and a one-time lifetime purchase, rather than requiring every user to subscribe monthly.
Cons: Mobile lacks real-time voice changing, so it cannot serve as a live phone-based voice changer.
Cons: The free plan’s five-voice daily cap and basic sound effects constrain regular use.
Cons: The Windows and macOS requirements exclude some older or newer-than-listed systems, including macOS versions beyond 12.1.

Verdict

MagicMic is a solid fit for desktop gamers, streamers and chat users who want live voice effects, shortcuts and soundboard playback, with mobile recording tools as a useful extra. Its free tier is a reasonable way to try the format, but the five-voice daily cap makes a paid plan the practical choice for frequent use. Choose another app if live voice changing on a phone is essential.
