Overview

Jellypod’s podcast agent can research a topic or source, draft a multi-host script, generate audio and let users revise lines by regenerating the affected audio. It also produces narrated illustrated videos, short vertical clips and voiceovers. A hosted show website and RSS feed extend production into distribution to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. That range is useful when one source needs to become several kinds of content, but buyers should weigh monthly credits and length caps against how much they expect to generate.

Key features

Production and editing

Illustrated videos use 16 visual styles; vertical shorts run 30 seconds or one minute and include animated visuals with synchronized captions. Editing individual script lines and regenerating their audio offers a focused way to correct a passage rather than redo an entire episode. Plan limits apply to podcast, video, shorts and voiceover lengths.

Voices and publishing

The library offers more than 3,300 voices across 121 languages, alongside character design and voice cloning. Those options suit productions that need distinct narrators or multilingual output, while the hosted website and RSS feed give shows a distribution route without a separate publishing setup.

API, ownership and controls

A REST API, OpenAPI specification and MCP server support developer workflows and AI assistants; API access begins with Creator. Jellypod says users own their content and that it does not train models on it. Enterprise adds encryption at rest and in transit, database- and storage-layer organization isolation, role-based controls, SSO through SAML 2.0 or OIDC, and SCIM provisioning. Jellypod also says it supports GDPR and CCPA obligations, including data processing agreements, erasure and portability. These provisions make the service more suitable for organizational use, though the listed security and identity features are concentrated in Enterprise.

Generation consumes credits: 30 per audio minute, 7 per image and 20 per video clip. Rendering, publishing and downloading are free, so the ongoing cost is tied to creation rather than those finishing steps. Support is available through in-app chat or email; Business includes priority support and a dedicated Slack channel.

Pricing

Jellypod’s pricing model is freemium, but it has no free plan. Paid plans start at $25/mo billed yearly, and a 7-day trial is offered. The nominal Free plan provides free hosting and a dedicated podcast website, but it is not a usable no-cost production tier.

Starter — $25.00 USD per month, billed yearly as $300: 5,000 credits monthly, two automations, 10 AI characters and two voice clones. Podcasts are capped at 60 minutes, shorts and video at 15 minutes, and voiceovers at 20 minutes. It is the entry point for solo creators who can work within those quotas and do not need API access.
Creator — $50.00 USD per month, billed yearly as $600: 11,000 credits monthly, 10 automations, unlimited AI characters, eight voice clones, two seats and API access. Podcast length remains capped at 60 minutes; shorts and video rise to 20 minutes and voiceovers to 30 minutes. This suits small teams or developers who need collaboration or integrations, but still has finite credits and seats.
Business — $125.00 USD per month, billed yearly as $1,500: 30,000 credits monthly, unlimited automations, a custom website domain, 20 voice clones, five seats and priority support. Shorts and video are capped at 25 minutes, while podcasts and voiceovers allow up to 60 minutes. It is the stronger fit for a team publishing regularly; the higher price buys more capacity and support, not unlimited credits.
Enterprise — custom pricing: unlimited credits, unlimited episode length, enterprise SSO, custom contracts, dedicated support and an SLA, with enterprise-grade security. Organizations needing those controls and uncapped generation should consider it, while the price requires a custom quote.

All three fixed-price plans are billed yearly, so the monthly figures are not month-to-month terms. Credit quotas cover narration and visuals, and the stated per-unit charges make volume an important part of choosing a tier.

Platforms

Jellypod supports web, iOS and API access. API access within the paid plans starts at Creator; Enterprise also includes API access as part of its broader offering.

Who it's for

Jellypod identifies independent creators, teachers, training teams, marketers, small businesses, healthcare communicators, nonprofits, enterprise teams and developers among its users. Its strongest case is for people who need to turn source material into several audio and video formats and distribute podcasts from one service. Starter suits smaller solo workflows; Creator is more practical when seats or API access matter, while Business and Enterprise address higher-volume or organizational needs. Someone who only wants a free podcast-making tool, or whose work would exceed the monthly credit budget, should compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros

One workflow spans research, multi-host scripting, audio, illustrated video, shorts and voiceovers, reducing the need to split production across separate tools.
Line-level revisions regenerate changed audio, and a large multilingual voice library with cloning supports varied narration needs.
Hosted websites and RSS feeds connect production to distribution; API and MCP options serve developers and AI-assisted workflows.
Enterprise includes SSO, SCIM, role-based controls and dedicated support for organizations with operational requirements.

Cons

No free plan means there is no ongoing free production tier, despite the freemium pricing model; the trial lasts seven days.
Monthly credits constrain generation, and credits are charged separately for audio minutes, images and video clips.
API access, seats and custom domains are tiered: API access starts at Creator, two seats arrive at Creator, and a custom domain is reserved for Business.
Starter’s 15-minute shorts and video and 20-minute voiceover caps may limit longer-form repurposing; higher limits require more expensive plans.
Fixed-price plans are billed yearly, requiring an annual commitment at the stated monthly rate.

Alternatives

Verdict

Choose Jellypod if you need a single production workflow for podcasts, narrated video and shorts, plus publishing and room to integrate through its API. Its breadth and enterprise controls are compelling for recurring creator or team workflows, but credits, annual billing on fixed-price plans and the absence of a free production plan are real trade-offs. Readers who want to experiment without paying or need only a narrower podcast workflow should look elsewhere.
