Overview

Lawcus combines intake and CRM, matter and task management, billing, document automation, client communication, and no-code workflows. That breadth can keep core practice operations together rather than split across separate tools. It is less compelling for a firm seeking only one narrow function: the case for paying for a broad platform depends on using more than its billing or matter features.

Matter collaboration, Kanban pipelines, and statute-of-limitation tracking cover coordination, workflow visibility, and deadline monitoring. Intake forms and a client portal add client-facing functions, while document templates and automation support repeatable document work. Unlimited document storage removes a stated storage ceiling, but workflow automation is reserved for Elite and Enterprise.

Key features

Billing, documents, and integrations

Time tracking, invoicing, retainers, trust accounting, and online payments give firms a substantial billing toolkit in the same product as matter management. That is a practical advantage for practices that need financial workflows tied to casework; firms focused on payments alone may prefer a narrower service. Integrations include Gmail, Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Google Drive, QuickBooks, Xero, LawPay, and Zapier, supporting connections across office, accounting, and payment tools.

Security and mobile access

Lawcus says it uses 256-bit AES encryption, AWS infrastructure, two-factor authentication, role-based access, and nightly backups. The mobile app covers matters, contacts, tasks, time entries, documents, and notifications on iOS and Android. Its firm-size restriction matters: firms with one user cannot use the app, which limits the value of mobile access for solo practices.

Support includes 24/7 access to help sites and AI support, with phone and email support also listed among plan features. A 14-day trial gives firms a short opportunity to assess fit; the company says it can extend the trial on request.

Pricing

Lawcus has no free plan. The plan prices below are stated as annual amounts billed annually, so compare the billing term carefully against alternatives priced monthly.

Plan	Price and term	What it includes	Best fit
Essential	39.00 USD per year, billed annually	Case and matter management, billing and invoicing, trust accounting	Firms that need core matter and financial tools without the listed integrations or automation.
Growth	59.00 USD per year, billed annually	Essential, QuickBooks and Xero integration, Google and Office365 integration, Nova AI and custom fields	Firms that need accounting and office-suite connections or custom fields.
Elite	79.00 USD per year, billed annually	Growth, workflow automation, marketing automation, advanced dashboards and custom report builder	Firms that need to automate workflows or marketing and build more advanced reports.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Elite and custom requirements; minimum 10 users	Enterprises with complex or high-volume needs.

The Essential-to-Growth step adds integrations and customization; Elite is the point at which workflow automation and advanced reporting arrive. Enterprise requires at least 10 users. Private cloud deployment is an add-on priced according to infrastructure requirements. The pricing note also gives a starting point of From $49/user/mo, which does not match the annual plan amounts above; confirm the applicable price and billing basis before committing.

Platforms

Lawcus supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows, and includes an API. The mobile app is offered through the App Store and Google Play, subject to the more-than-one-user firm requirement.

Who it's for

Lawcus is a good fit for growing and small firms seeking connected matter management, client communication, documents, and billing, as well as firms scaling operations into automation and reporting. Its trust accounting and payment features broaden its appeal to practices that want financial work alongside case management. Solo users who rely on mobile access, and firms that need only a single specialist function, have clearer reasons to look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Matter management, intake, a client portal, document tools, time tracking, and trust accounting sit in one platform, reducing the need to assemble those core functions separately.
Pro: QuickBooks, Xero, Google, and Office365 integrations begin at Growth, while Elite adds workflow automation and advanced reporting for firms that need to scale operations.
Pro: Unlimited document storage avoids a stated storage quota, and the mobile app covers useful matter and time-entry tasks.
Con: There is no free plan, and workflow automation is not included in Essential or Growth.
Con: Solo firms cannot use the mobile app because eligibility requires more than one user.
Con: Enterprise has a 10-user minimum, and private cloud deployment adds a custom infrastructure cost.
Con: The stated starting monthly per-user price and annual plan amounts use different price presentations, so buyers should verify the applicable charge.

Verdict

Choose Lawcus if your firm wants matter management, client-facing work, document tools, and trust accounting under one roof, and you expect to use that breadth. Growth is the practical step up for accounting and office-suite integrations; firms needing workflow automation should budget for Elite. Look elsewhere if you need a free plan, a mobile app for a solo practice, or only one specialized legal workflow.
