Overview

Live Home 3D is home-design software for turning floor plans into 3D views of rooms, houses, exteriors and terrain. It suits homeowners and designers who want to develop a layout and see how it looks; its strongest case is the link between measured planning and visual walkthroughs, while free exports carry watermarks and the free plan is limited to two stories.

Its focus is design and visualization, not project administration. Readers who need a floor plan alone may find its 3D toolkit more than they need, while those comparing layouts and finishes can move between a plan and an immersive view of the proposed home.

Key features

From measured plan to walkthrough

Wall tools, plan-image tracing and dimension marking support both drawing a layout from scratch and recreating one from an existing plan. Multiple stories allow larger designs, though the free version stops at two. Switching to 3D, walking through the home and rearranging furniture and finishes makes it possible to assess how the design reads beyond the flat plan.

Models, imports and rendering

The Mac product page gives the in-app library 2,400 3D models and 2,100 materials. The store feature chart also lists importing objects from Trimble 3D Warehouse and browsing and importing Sketchfab models; Sketchfab requires a free account. For custom objects, the Mac app supports FBX, 3DS, COLLADA and OBJ imports.

Mac exports include PDF floor plans, images, panoramas, walkthrough videos and several 3D model formats. The app supports unlimited on-device offline ray-tracing renders with AMD Radeon ProRender or Cycles, while AI cloud rendering uses purchased credits. Real-time scenes, 360° tours, VR/AR support and video export extend its presentation options. Export formats vary by platform, and free exports contain watermarks, so users should check that the version they choose supports their intended delivery format.

Pricing

Live Home 3D is freemium, with a free iPhone/iPad/Vision app and paid Standard and Pro features offered as subscriptions or lifetime licenses. The free version is a useful way to explore the workflow, but its two-story cap and watermarked exports make it a poor fit for a finished, unrestricted presentation.

Free: Free for the iPhone/iPad/Vision app. In-app Standard and Pro subscriptions and lifetime licenses are available. The free version is limited to two stories and watermarked exports.
Standard subscription: 5.99 USD per month or 19.99 USD per year. The annual option costs less than paying month by month over a year; choose it if Standard features meet your needs and you expect to use the app for a full year.
Pro subscription: 14.99 USD per month or 39.99 USD per year. The annual option is the lower-cost subscription route for users who need Pro features.
Standard lifetime: 59.99 USD per once for in-app features, or 59.99 USD per once for Live Home 3D Standard (Mac), which requires macOS 13 or higher.
Pro lifetime: 129.99 USD per once for in-app features, or 129.99 USD per once for Live Home 3D Pro (Mac), which requires macOS 13 or higher.

The lifetime options suit buyers who prefer a one-time purchase to an ongoing subscription; the Mac editions have a stated macOS 13-or-higher requirement. The store offers a 30 day money back guarantee for purchases covered by its refund policy. A free trial is also offered.

Platforms

Live Home 3D runs on Android, iOS, macOS and Windows, with mobile viewing supported. Some capabilities are platform-specific: the 2,400-model and 2,100-material library figures, listed object formats and offline ray-tracing support are described for Mac. Export formats vary by platform, so users with a particular delivery requirement should confirm that their chosen version meets it.

Who it's for

Homeowners planning a renovation or new layout can use the app to trace a plan, compare room arrangements and walk through a 3D proposal. Amateur and professional designers who need both floor-plan tools and visual output are a natural fit, especially when they want to present a design with a panorama, walkthrough video or 360° tour. It is less suitable for someone seeking only a basic plan or a dedicated construction-management workflow.

Pros and cons

Pro: The plan-to-walkthrough workflow connects dimensions and room layout with a view from inside the design.
Pro: Mac users get broad object import and export support, plus offline ray-tracing renders without a render quota.
Pro: Subscriptions and lifetime licenses give buyers a choice between recurring access and a one-time purchase.
Con: The free version allows only two stories and watermarks exports, limiting its usefulness for larger projects or polished deliverables.
Con: AI cloud rendering requires purchased credits, and listed rendering and library details are specific to the Mac product page.
Con: Mac lifetime editions require macOS 13 or higher, and export formats vary by platform.

Verdict

Choose Live Home 3D if you want to develop a floor plan and judge it as a walkthrough-ready 3D design across desktop and mobile. Its combination of measured planning, visual editing and presentation exports is the main reason to pick it. Look elsewhere if you need an unrestricted free version: the two-story ceiling and watermarked exports make the free plan a sampler, not a full project solution.
