Overview

ManageEngine SaaS Manager Plus helps organizations find SaaS applications, manage licenses and keep subscription renewals in view. It is best suited to teams that need shared oversight of a bounded app portfolio; its tiered app caps make the right plan a central buying question.

Automated discovery can surface applications adopted outside formal procurement, while a unified dashboard brings app, user, license and spending metrics together. That is a useful foundation for IT and finance reviews, particularly where subscriptions have accumulated across teams. The platform also identifies underused licenses and overlapping subscriptions, but buyers must count every application against the plan limit, including each one that contributes to the managed portfolio.

Key features

Discovery, licenses and access

Discovery, usage analytics, license reclamation and renewal tracking cover several stages of subscription oversight: find applications, assess use, recover licenses and watch renewals. Automated provisioning, role-based access control, user activity monitoring and access audit trails add administrative controls. This combination suits organizations that want more than spend visibility, though the breadth of functions does not remove the need to choose a tier that fits the app count.

Spend, reports and invoices

Reports include vendor spending, spending by source, most-used and most-spent vendors, user statistics, user app statistics, and user and app activity. Optical character recognition extracts license details from uploaded invoices, which can reduce manual handling when recording license information. Documented accounting or expense integrations include Zoho Books, QuickBooks and Zoho Expense.

Integrations and security

Documented app integrations include Box, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Microsoft 365, Asana, HubSpot, Jira, DocuSign and Webex, among others. Security settings include audit logs and roles such as Account Owner, Super Admin, Admin and Moderator; SAML single sign-on is available through Zoho Directory. ManageEngine says its cloud solutions run in Zoho-owned data centers assigned to nearby regions, with region-specific ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and PCI DSS certifications. Product support is offered through help documentation, email and a toll-free phone number.

Pricing

The free plan is free and covers up to 2 applications after trial; every application counts toward the license limit. That makes it a narrow fit for evaluating the product or monitoring a very small portfolio, not a broad free option for growing app estates.

Plan	Price	Application limit
Up to 5 apps	250.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 5
Up to 10 apps	480.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 10
Up to 25 apps	960.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 25
Up to 50 apps	2000.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 50
Up to 100 apps	3800.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 100
Up to 200 apps	7500.00 USD per year, billed yearly	Up to 200; more than 200 requires contacting sales

The paid tiers scale by application count rather than by user seats. The 5-app tier is the lowest-cost paid entry; the higher tiers buy portfolio headroom, so the 10-, 25-, 50-, 100- and 200-app plans fit progressively broader estates. Organizations managing more than 200 apps must contact sales. A 30-day trial is offered.

Platforms

SaaS Manager Plus runs on the web. Organizations seeking a native desktop or mobile platform should consider whether a web platform meets their deployment needs.

Who it's for

This is a good fit for IT and finance teams that need discovery beyond procurement records, license-use analysis, renewal oversight and reporting in one web platform. Its clearest constraint is scale by app count: very small portfolios can use the free tier, while organizations managing more than 200 applications must contact sales. It is less compelling for buyers who need a free tier covering more than two apps.

Pros and cons

Pros: Discovery includes apps adopted outside formal procurement, helping teams spot subscriptions that may not appear in purchasing workflows.
Pros: License reclamation, usage analytics and renewal tracking connect visibility to practical subscription administration.
Pros: Invoice OCR, detailed activity and spend reports, and access controls extend the product beyond a basic spend summary.
Cons: The free plan stops at two applications, limiting its usefulness for organizations with even a modest portfolio.
Cons: Every application counts toward the plan cap, and portfolios above 200 apps require a sales conversation.

Alternatives

For broader options, browse SaaS Management Platforms.

Matrix42 FastViewer is a paid alternative with a free trial and apps for Android, iOS, macOS, self-hosted, web and Windows.
Binadox is worth considering if a per-month entry plan suits better: its Starter plan is 99.00 USD per month and covers 3 cloud accounts, 5 applications, 3 team seats and unlimited cloud and SaaS spend.
Block 64 is a paid alternative with a free trial and API, Linux, macOS, web and Windows platforms.
1Password is a paid alternative with apps across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows.

Cledara is another paid alternative, with plans described for 20 or 75 software applications and a tailored package.
SpendVera is a freemium web alternative whose free plan covers up to 10 subscriptions, with core cost transparency aimed at small teams.
AccessOwl is a paid web alternative with a spend management module priced at 1.50 USD per month per user.

Verdict

Choose ManageEngine SaaS Manager Plus if your team wants discovery, license optimization, renewal tracking and spend reporting together, and its app-count tiers fit your portfolio. The main reason to look elsewhere is the two-app free ceiling—or the sales step required above 200 apps.
