Overview

Solvely is an AI study service for learners who want help with coursework as well as tools for turning class materials into revision resources. It suits students who move between problem solving, exam preparation, and lecture notes; its broad toolkit is useful, but its AI answers still need checking.

Solvely handles typed questions, photos, and PDFs, then provides worked, step-by-step solutions across subjects. It also converts course materials into study aids and can record lectures for later review. That combination makes it a practical option for consolidating several study tasks, rather than a specialist choice for one narrow subject.

Key features

Problem solving and explanations

The homework solver cross-checks answers with multiple AI models, and visual or video explanations cover topics such as 3D geometry, calculus graphs, and physics simulations. These features can help explain a method, not just supply an answer. Solvely nevertheless advises users to verify outputs and does not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or suitability, so consequential work should not rely on an answer without independent review.

The Android and iOS apps scan math, physics, and chemistry problems and explain college math questions. The Chrome extension captures question screenshots and works on Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Google Classroom, and other websites. It is free to install, though some features or higher usage limits may depend on the account or plan; that makes the extension convenient for browser-based study, but not a guarantee of unrestricted free use.

Exam preparation and study materials

Uploading notes and past exams can produce likely-topic predictions, mock exams, cheat sheets, and review plans. Slides, PDFs, and YouTube links can be turned into topic breakdowns, study guides, flashcards, and adaptive quizzes. This is a strong fit for learners who already have course materials to work from. Topic predictions are best treated as one input to revision, not a replacement for studying the course as a whole.

Lecture capture

Live recording creates searchable transcripts, AI-generated notes, and study sets from lectures. That gives students a way to revisit recorded material and turn it into review resources. Solvely says it performs security audits for transcription data and uses commercially reasonable safeguards, while acknowledging that absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Pricing

Solvely is freemium, with a free plan and a free trial. The paid options include several plans with custom pricing: Solvely.AI NPro-Weekly, Solvely.AI Pro-Monthly, and Solvely All Year Access. Their plan names alone do not establish which option is best for a particular study routine.

Plan	Price and terms	Best fit
Solvely Unlimited — 12 months	4.83 USD per year (billed $57.99/year; 3-day free trial; Unlimited models and features · cancel anytime)	Students seeking a year of unlimited models and features, provided they are comfortable with the annual billing commitment.
Solvely Unlimited — 1 month	8.99 USD per month (billed $8.99 monthly; Unlimited models and features)	Those who want the same stated unlimited access without committing beyond a month.
Solvely Unlimited — 3 months	11.66 USD per month (billed $34.99 every 3 months; Unlimited models and features)	Students who want a multi-month period of unlimited access rather than monthly billing or a full year.

The free plan is the natural starting point for occasional use, while a paid Unlimited term is aimed at students who want unlimited models and features. The 12-month option has a 3-day trial and allows cancellation anytime; the monthly and three-month options are billed at their stated intervals. The free-plan usage caps are not defined, so students who expect heavy use should check whether the free tier meets their needs before relying on it.

Platforms

Solvely runs on the web, Android, iOS, and as a browser extension. The mobile apps add problem scanning, while the Chrome extension captures questions on learning-management and classroom sites. Solvely says it offers 24/7 support through the extension page.

Who it's for

Solvely is aimed at post-secondary, college-bound, and professional learners. It is best for students who want one service for homework explanations, practice generation, study-material conversion, and lecture review. Solvely says it does not offer services directed at children under 13.

Pros and cons

Pros: The solver accepts typed questions, photos, and PDFs, and provides worked, step-by-step explanations across subjects.
Pros: Students can turn notes, past exams, slides, PDFs, and YouTube links into several kinds of revision material, rather than using separate tools for each task.
Pros: Web, mobile, and extension access support both scanning problems and capturing questions while using course sites.
Cons: Solvely does not guarantee AI outputs, so students must verify answers rather than treat them as authoritative.
Cons: Some extension features or higher usage limits may depend on the account or plan, and free-plan caps are not defined.
Cons: The 12-month Unlimited plan bills $57.99/year despite its 4.83 USD per year displayed rate, so the billing total matters when comparing terms.

Alternatives

For a more focused look at the category, browse Homework Help Software, AI Homework Helpers, Math Solver Apps, or AI Study Tools. Students working on references rather than coursework can compare AI Citation Generators.

Gauth is a freemium alternative with Android, iOS, and web apps, a free AI math-solution plan, and a paid membership for more expert interactions. Choose it when math help and expert interactions matter more than Solvely’s broader study-material and lecture toolkit.

StudyX is another freemium option across Android, iOS, web, and extension, with a Plus plan that includes homework help, AI notes, flashcards, quizzes, live transcription, AI chat, and an ad-free experience. Its feature mix is a close match for students prioritizing notes, quizzes, and transcription alongside homework help.

Gionth is a free Android, iOS, and web alternative. StudyBru is free while in beta, with no credit card required. Course Hero offers a no-cost Basic Membership for browsing study documents, pay-per-question homework help, and unlocks earned by contributing materials; choose it if those document and contribution features fit better than Solvely’s AI-generated study workflow. OpenTutor can be downloaded and used for free, with a paid ad-free version mentioned but without price or terms.

QuestionAI supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows, and extension, and its yearly subscription offers unlimited problem solving and image uploads. It may suit students who prioritize those unlimited solving and upload features across a wider range of platforms. Pearson AI Tutor is a paid alternative with monthly, quarterly, and annual plans; consider it if a paid subscription format is preferable.

Verdict

Solvely is a strong choice for college and other post-secondary learners who want homework help, exam practice, study-material generation, and lecture notes in one place. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; the need to verify AI answers, uncertainty around free-plan limits, and annual billing on the longest Unlimited term are reasons to look elsewhere or compare plans carefully.
