Overview

Milkymap is a customer journey mapping and management platform for organizations that want to connect journey work with customer experience data. It is best suited to businesses building a broader CX practice; solo users can start cheaply, but team collaboration sits in higher plans.

Galaxy combines map creation and analysis with a CX Life Cycle Model for organizing metrics and customer data across segments, products, and brands. That makes it more relevant to ongoing CX management than to users who only need a few standalone diagrams. Users can adapt maps and much of the application to their processes, language, and customer needs, a useful degree of flexibility for varied industries and internal practices.

The CX Actionboard connects data through API connectors and supports management with near real-time data. Stargate connects to SQL and NoSQL databases for real-time access, while supported source types also include customer feedback, CRM systems, and analytics tools. This data-connected approach is a strength for organizations trying to relate journeys to operational measures, though it adds little for a person seeking a simple mapping canvas.

Milkymap's journey mapping tool is hosted in Europe. Personal data may be transferred to and processed in the Netherlands, and Milkymap does not guarantee absolute security. It also provides training resources, tutorials, customer service, and product demos.

Key features

Journey mapping: Users can create, edit, analyze, and customize maps, with emotion mapping and persona profiles. The free plan's three-map cap is enough for a limited evaluation or small personal project, but it constrains a growing portfolio.
CX data model and action planning: The CX Life Cycle Model organizes metrics and customer data across segments, products, and brands. The Actionboard and API connectors can help teams manage CX work using near real-time data, making the product more compelling where mapping needs to inform ongoing decisions.
Database connections: Stargate provides real-time access to SQL and NoSQL sources. This is useful for organizations with customer data in established databases; it is less consequential if journeys are maintained without connected data.
MilkyAi: The Business and Enterprise solutions include AI for analyzing, creating, checking, and reporting on data, journeys, and Milkymap content. Buyers who need those capabilities must move beyond the entry-level single-user plans.
Collaboration: Real-time editing by multiple members is available with Business or Enterprise. Free and Pro are single-user plans, so they do not serve teams that need to co-edit maps in real time.

Pricing

Milkymap uses a freemium model, with a free plan, paid plans from €9/user/mo, and a 30-day trial for Galaxy Business.

Satellite Free — free: A single user gets basic features. It is a no-cost way to explore the product, but the three-map and one-user limits make it a narrow fit for sustained or shared work.
Satellite Pro — 9.00 EUR per month: Billed €9 Per Month for a single user, this plan is aimed at consultants and contractors. It gives an individual a paid option without team collaboration; the single-user scope is the trade-off.
Galaxy Business — 39.00 EUR per month: Billed €39 Per Month Per User, it is for businesses and teams and includes a 30-day free trial. It is the relevant tier for real-time multi-member editing and MilkyAi, but per-user billing makes team cost rise with seat count.
Galaxy Enterprise — custom pricing: A bespoke offering for businesses adopting customer centricity throughout the organization. It is the enterprise-scale option, with price determined through a custom offer.

The plan details specify only image export, so readers who need other export formats should confirm fit before choosing Milkymap.

Platforms

Milkymap is available on web and iOS. The service includes the MilkyMap mobile application, and the journey mapping tool is hosted in Europe.

Who it's for

Milkymap suits organizations that want journey maps connected to customer data, metrics, and action planning, particularly when CX work spans teams, customer segments, products, or brands. Its stated audiences include automotive, healthcare, retail, B2B, telecom, and government businesses. Consultants and contractors can use Satellite Pro as single users; organizations needing shared editing should budget for Business or Enterprise. It is a weaker fit for users who only need basic diagrams or require real-time collaboration on a low-cost individual plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: The CX Life Cycle Model, Actionboard, API connectors, and database access connect journey mapping to customer data and management rather than leaving maps as isolated artifacts.
Pro: Extensive customization lets users adapt maps and much of the application to their processes and terminology.
Pro: A free single-user plan and a €9 single-user Pro tier give individuals a lower-cost route into the product.
Con: Real-time multi-member editing is reserved for Business or Enterprise, so the free and Pro plans do not support collaborative team editing.
Con: The free plan is limited to three maps and one user, while Business is billed per user; those constraints matter as a team's map portfolio and seat count grow.
Con: Export formats are limited to image, which may not suit workflows that depend on other export types.

Alternatives

Customer Journey Mapping Software is a broader category directory for comparing tools before settling on a specific product.

Customer Journey App is worth considering if export flexibility matters: its free plan includes JSON, HTML, PDF, and PPTX export, alongside three maps and one user.
Smaply may suit someone who wants a larger free mapping allowance, with 10 maps and 10 personas, though its free plan has no viewer seats.
Custellence offers two users and unlimited viewers on its free plan, a better starting point when sharing matters more than Milkymap's one-user entry plan.
René Studio is another freemium journey-mapping option.
UXPressia includes three journey maps, three personas, and three impact maps on its free plan, making it an alternative when those multiple artifact types are useful.
Cemantica is a paid option with an Enterprise free trial for up to five users over 21 days, useful to consider when a time-limited team evaluation is the priority.
cxomni is an alternative for buyers prepared for a €2,000-per-month starting point, a 36-month minimum term, and a package with up to 10 author users and unlimited read users.
Quadient AP is another paid software option.

Verdict

Choose Milkymap if your organization wants journey mapping tied to customer data, CX measures, and action planning, and can pay for Business or Enterprise when collaborative editing is essential. Its connected CX structure and customization are the strongest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need inexpensive team co-editing, more than image export, or only a lightweight map-making tool.
