Overview

Movista is a retail execution and workforce-management platform for organizations coordinating work across stores and field teams. It is best suited to retailers and their partners that need task execution, staffing workflows and inventory reporting in one system. Its breadth is the draw; organizations looking only for a lightweight audit tool may find it more platform than they need.

Key features

Task execution and field operations

Teams can create, assign and validate work, with scheduling, time tracking, escalation, role management and approval workflows. GPS verification and proof of completion help managers confirm where and when work happened. Offline capabilities are useful for field staff working with unreliable connectivity, while mobile audits, stock updates and in-app item ordering connect store execution with inventory tasks.

The core package includes a daily mobile dashboard, reporting, messaging, integrations, API access, support and onboarding. Optional modules add item management, shelf ordering and returns, payroll, report building, territory and route optimization, and cross-company collaboration. ShelfCheck AI uses image recognition to help identify shelf conditions and product availability. These options broaden the platform, but customers should decide which workflows they need before evaluating the scope of an implementation.

Communications, reporting and integrations

Read rates, high-priority notifications and required-reading acknowledgments help managers track whether important messages have reached frontline teams. Amp, Movista's iOS and Android app, supports mobile tasking, escalation, reassignments and individual, group and team communications. Real-time dashboards cover work completion, performance and stock levels, giving managers a view across execution and inventory rather than just task status.

Movista names integration categories including payroll, resource planning, expense reports, payment processing, human resources, CRM and business intelligence. Its supported API integrations are RESTful and fully documented. Advanced algorithms can optimize territories, routes and schedules against demand, resources, time, availability and skills; this is most relevant to organizations balancing complex field coverage.

Pricing

Movista is paid software with custom pricing. Prospective customers are directed to request pricing or schedule a demo. There are no published plan tiers or seat and usage limits to compare, so buyers should establish which core and optional modules, integrations and onboarding needs shape their quote.

Platforms

Movista supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Its Amp mobile app is distributed through the iOS App Store and Android Play Store, while desktop dashboards support oversight and reporting. Offline capabilities help field users continue work when connectivity is limited.

Movista's privacy notice says the app may process GPS location, work schedules, time and payroll details, and uploaded media. Employers determine what personal data is collected and how it is processed. Personal data is retained for the customer contract term and may remain in backup systems for up to 60 days in a non-editable state.

Who it's for

Movista targets retailers, consumer-goods companies, service providers and distributors coordinating in-store or field work. Its combination of workforce workflows, stock activity, communications and reporting fits organizations that need consistent execution across many locations. Movista reports more than 9 million retail locations, 600,000 users worldwide and 26 million completed projects. Smaller teams with a narrow checklist requirement may prefer a more focused tool.

Pros and cons

Broad execution workflow: Task assignment, validation, scheduling, time tracking, approvals and proof of completion serve teams that need more than audit capture.
Field-ready mobile work: Offline capabilities, GPS verification and mobile reassignments support distributed teams working beyond a desktop.
Connected operational view: Dashboards cover completion, performance and stock, while integrations and API access can connect adjacent business systems.
Custom pricing requires a sales conversation: Buyers must request pricing or schedule a demo rather than compare published plans and costs directly.
Broad scope may be unnecessary: Teams seeking only simple audits may not need the workforce, inventory and optimization functions that distinguish Movista.

Alternatives

Choose Repsly if representative databases, account management, scheduling, basic forms and standard reporting are the priority. Consider BeatRoute for territory and channel-partner management, GPS-based market coverage, order collection and stock reporting. FieldAssist is an option for field sales and distribution workflows such as order capture, invoicing, collections and returns, with offline-first mobile operations.

FieldPie offers Basic, Grow and Pro plans with minimums of 3, 5 and 8 users respectively. 1Channel Retail Merchandising Software, MC1 Retail Execution and Shelfr are also paid options for readers comparing retail merchandising or execution software. Choose FORM if its FORM OpX or GoSpotCheck by FORM plans, each with stated user minimums, or its Image Recognition plan better matches the intended workflow.

Verdict

Movista is a strong fit for retailers and consumer-goods organizations that need to coordinate frontline work, verify execution and connect store activity to workforce and inventory reporting. Its mobile and offline workflows and broad operational coverage are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need a narrow audit app or want to compare costs without first engaging the sales team.
