Overview

The 15-question assessment covers financial goals, circumstances, risk tolerance, and risk capacity. Clients can complete it online or on paper, and online completion takes five minutes. That keeps the process focused, but the result is a structured risk profile rather than a full picture of a client’s finances.

Advisors can produce online and PDF reports with graphs and visual profiles, then connect scores to model portfolios. Up to 11 portfolios can be added, which supports a direct discussion of investment choices without turning the product into a portfolio-management or comprehensive planning suite.

Key features

Questionnaire customization: Custom branding, added questions and disclosures, and website embedding let firms align the client experience with their own process. That flexibility matters most to advisors who want a branded assessment rather than a standard questionnaire.
Reporting and portfolio connections: Visual online and PDF reports give advisors a shareable basis for reviewing a client’s risk profile. Connecting scores to as many as 11 model portfolios can help translate that profile into an investment conversation, though the portfolio cap may constrain firms with larger model lineups.
CRM integration: Pocket Risk integrates with Redtail CRM. That is a useful connection for advisors using Redtail, but it is a narrow integration option for firms whose workflows depend on other systems.
Security and data handling: Pocket Risk says data in transit uses 256-bit encryption over HTTPS, with AWS infrastructure and daily backups. It also says it neither shares questionnaires or client information with third parties nor sells or distributes client data. These are relevant safeguards for client financial information; the product's security statements do not establish a broader compliance guarantee.
Compliance positioning: The service says it is designed to comply with regulations in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India. Firms should still assess their own regulatory requirements rather than treating that design claim as a substitute for compliance review.

Pricing

Pocket Risk offers a 14-day free trial and no free plan. Its three displayed annual plan amounts are all 0.00 USD per year, billed per month and billed annually. Because these figures do not provide a usable paid-plan cost, confirm the actual pricing and billing terms directly before committing.

SOLO: 0.00 USD per year; one user and up to 80 clients, with email support. It is the smallest fit for a solo advisor with a limited client roster, but the client cap makes it a poor match for a growing practice.
PROFESSIONAL: 0.00 USD per year; three users and up to 500 clients, plus custom branding, model portfolios, integrations, website embedding, added questions, team admin controls, and telephone support. It suits a small team that needs customization and shared administration, with a firm client ceiling to plan around.
BUSINESS: 0.00 USD per year; ten users and unlimited clients, with the same listed customization, portfolio, integration, embedding, and team controls as Professional, plus telephone support. It removes the client cap for a larger practice, but does not increase the seat allowance beyond ten.

Standard support hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday. Monthly plans can be canceled at any time; yearly-plan accounts can be canceled within 30 days of payment. The trial lets a firm assess the workflow, but the displayed plan amounts make direct confirmation of the eventual charge essential.

Platforms

Pocket Risk runs on Android, iOS, and the web. That gives advisors and clients mobile and browser access, while the stated client completion options also include paper questionnaires.

Who it's for

Pocket Risk is best suited to financial advisors who need a short, repeatable client risk assessment with branded questionnaires, visual reporting, and a connection between risk scores and model portfolios. Its goal-planning and investment-planning capabilities may support that advisory workflow, but it does not offer cash-flow modeling, tax planning, scenario analysis, or insurance planning. Firms needing those functions should pair it with broader planning software or choose a different product.

Pros and cons

Pro: A 15-question assessment can be completed online in five minutes or on paper, giving advisors a focused way to collect risk information.
Pro: Custom branding, added questions and disclosures, and website embedding let firms adapt the questionnaire to their client process.
Pro: Online and PDF visual reports, plus support for up to 11 model portfolios, connect assessment results to investment discussions.
Con: Solo is capped at 80 clients and Professional at 500; Business removes the client limit but is capped at ten users.
Con: Redtail is the only named CRM integration, which may leave firms using other CRM systems without the same connection.
Con: The displayed 0.00 USD per year amounts do not clarify the paid cost, so buyers need to verify the charge and billing terms before choosing a plan.
Con: The product omits several planning functions, including cash-flow modeling, tax planning, scenario analysis, and insurance planning.
