Overview

Playary combines music, podcasts, audiobooks, movies and series in one entertainment service. It is best suited to people who want several media formats in one place, especially listeners who value offline playback and flexible playlists. The breadth is compelling at no cost, but catalog-dependent podcast imports and non-DRM downloads limit its appeal for some users.

Playary is made by a company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Türkiye. It supports Turkish and English.

Key features

Playlists, downloads and controls

Playary allows unlimited playlists, with options to copy and share them or explore playlists created by others. That flexibility suits listeners who organize music around different activities or want to discover other users’ selections. Downloads enable playback without mobile data, but they are not DRM-free; choose another service if you need files that can be used without Playary’s restrictions.

Explicit-content filters and blocking for artists, albums or songs give users practical ways to shape what they hear. Playary also supports audio and video podcasts. OPML import and export can help move subscriptions between podcast apps, though imports are limited to podcasts in Playary’s catalog. The service may embed videos hosted by third parties such as YouTube and Vimeo.

Creator tools, support and security

Separate platforms let artists and podcasters upload and manage content. Users can contact Playary by email, through its Discord community or via the website contact form. Playary says sensitive personal data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest, and that it uses role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication. It also says it conducts security assessments, penetration tests, vulnerability scans and internal audits.

Playary’s terms require users to be at least 13 or the applicable digital-consent age, unless parental consent applies.

Pricing

Playary says the service is completely free and may introduce premium membership options later. The Free plan is free and includes songs, podcasts, movies, audiobooks, TV shows, ad-free listening and downloads. That unusually broad mix makes it a strong fit for anyone seeking a no-cost starting point across several entertainment formats.

A Premium plan is described as including songs, podcasts, movies, audiobooks, TV shows and ad-free listening, but its price is custom pricing. The plan information does not establish what it adds over Free; readers should not assume a paid tier is required for downloads, which are included in Free.

Platforms

Playary supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows and web access, covering mobile, desktop and browser use. Its supported languages are Turkish and English, so it is a narrower choice for users who need another interface language.

Who it's for

Playary suits listeners who want music and spoken-word entertainment alongside movies and series, and who value offline playback, playlist controls and a free plan. It is less suitable for people who need DRM-free downloads, podcasts outside Playary’s catalog, or support for languages beyond Turkish and English.

Pros and cons

Pro: One free plan spans music, podcasts, audiobooks, movies and TV shows, with ad-free listening and downloads.
Pro: Unlimited playlists, sharing and discovery offer useful ways to organize and find listening.
Pro: OPML support and video podcasts accommodate more than basic audio playback.
Con: Downloads are not DRM-free, limiting their usefulness to people who want unrestricted files.
Con: OPML imports include only podcasts in Playary’s catalog, so some subscriptions may not transfer.
Con: Turkish and English are the supported languages.

Verdict

Choose Playary if you want a free service that brings music, podcasts, audiobooks, movies and series together, with downloads and substantial playlist controls. Look elsewhere if you need DRM-free files or want podcast imports to cover subscriptions beyond Playary’s catalog.
