Overview

Talefy brings story creation and reading together: creators set a title, characters, category, description, setting, and rating, while readers make choices that affect a story’s paths and outcomes. The controls for worlds, plot, tone, pacing, and chapter structure give creators several ways to shape a story, rather than just its premise.

Its genres include fantasy, science fiction, romance, horror, thriller, and comedy. Character profiles and branching narratives suit an experience built around following and influencing a story; image generation is also available. The iPhone app is described as an interactive AI character roleplay app, while the Android app supports stories, AI characters, and roleplay adventures, with safety settings for adjusting themes and intensity.

Talefy is provided by AIceberg Labs, Inc., registered in Delaware; Alceberg Minds OÜ is named as provider for EU customers. Users can register by email or through Google, Apple ID, X, or Discord. Talefy says it uses SSL for data exchanges and encrypts payment transactions, but cannot guarantee absolute security. Personal data may be shared with third-party providers involved in operating, securing, and promoting the service. People under 18 are not authorized to use it.

Key features

Creation and customization

Creators can define a story’s basic setup and customize characters, worlds, plot, tone, pacing, and chapter structure. That breadth is useful for people who want to shape both the premise and the reading experience. The available facts do not establish how much control each setting provides, so creators who need precise tools for a particular writing workflow should compare before committing.

Reader-directed stories

Readers choose how a story proceeds, with decisions shaping its paths and outcomes. This is the central appeal for people who prefer participation to a fixed narrative. The listed genres cover both speculative and contemporary moods, though Talefy’s format is specifically interactive rather than a general-purpose publishing tool.

Pricing

Talefy combines a free tariff with trials, one-time purchases, and subscriptions. Registration grants free access for 3 days. A separate 14-day trial requires entering payment details in the account, so it is not a no-payment-details preview. Monthly subscriptions paid by card or PayPal renew automatically unless canceled in the account.

Free tariff plan: 0.00 USD per free, available after registration and valid for 3 days. This is a short way to try the service, not an ongoing free tier.
Taley and Coin top-ups: 165 Taleys for 1.99 USD per once, 475 Taleys for 5.99 USD per once, and 855 Taleys for 10.99 USD per once; 165 Coins costs 1.99 USD per once. These suit users seeking a single purchase, but the facts do not say what each currency buys.
7-Days Talefy Premium: 29.99 USD per once for 7 days, an in-app purchase. It offers a defined short period, but at a substantial one-time cost for a week.
Talefy Premium: 46.99 USD per once as an in-app purchase.

Subscriptions are offered at fixed monthly and/or yearly amounts, with terms provided on the site or in the account. Stripe and PayPal are named payment methods. Check the applicable duration and renewal terms before purchasing, particularly where the billing period is unclear.

Platforms

Talefy is available on Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. That range suits readers who want to switch between mobile and desktop platforms, though the iPhone and Android descriptions emphasize roleplay and interactive stories.

Who it's for

Talefy is best for readers who want choices to change a story and creators interested in building interactive plots with adjustable characters, settings, tone, and structure. It is less suitable for under-18s, who are barred from the service, or for anyone seeking a continuing free plan: the free tariff lasts only 3 days.

Pros and cons

Pros: Story setup and customization span characters, worlds, tone, pacing, and chapters, giving creators more than a premise field.
Pros: Branching choices and a wide range of genres give readers several kinds of interactive story to explore.
Pros: Android, iOS, macOS, and web support offers broad platform coverage.
Cons: Free access lasts only 3 days, and the 14-day trial requires payment details, limiting low-commitment exploration.
Cons: Several purchase options use Taleys or Coins without explaining their uses, while the 46.99 USD Premium purchase has no stated billing period.
Cons: Talefy does not guarantee absolute security, and personal data may be shared with service providers.
