Overview

The platform brings shipment location and condition monitoring together with ETA predictions and alerts for delays, theft, and condition problems. Validated reports can support claims, compliance, and partner accountability, while Tive Reveal’s benchmarking and analytics help teams look for trends, weaker carriers, and risky lanes. That combination serves both daily exception management and broader performance review, although the value depends on the selected tier.

Tive was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Its cloud application and information security management system have a SOC 2 Type 2 examination and ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Users can contact a dedicated account manager or Tive support for help getting started.

Key features

Monitoring and shipment setup

Real-time location, ETA predictions, and exception alerts provide teams with a way to follow active shipments across road, ocean, air, and rail. Shipment templates and standard alerts are in Essential, while Plus adds CSV shipment creation, multi-tracker shipments, ETA alerts, and geofence alerts. The progression is useful for teams moving beyond basic tracking, but buyers should confirm the full tier comparison with Sales before relying on a particular workflow.

Reporting, analytics, and integrations

Custom shipment reports are included in Essential, giving teams a way to prepare records for claims, compliance, or partner accountability. Tive Reveal adds benchmarking and analytics for finding performance patterns and operational risks. Premium includes API and webhook access, custom dashboards, ocean and air visibility, smart route deviation alerts, and SSO. ERP and WMS connections use the API or a bridging TMS partner, so organizations should account for that integration path when assessing implementation.

Mobile access

The iOS and Android app gives Plus and Premium users access to shipment data and alerts, but it cannot create or edit shipments or enable public sharing links. It is a companion for monitoring on the move, not a substitute for the platform’s shipment-management workflow.

Pricing

Tive uses a paid model with custom pricing; customers must contact Sales for a full comparison of Essential, Plus, and Premium. No tier has a published price, so teams cannot compare costs without a sales discussion.

Essential: Shipment templates, custom shipment reports, a CSV shipment list, standard alerts, and a real-time alert map. It suits teams that need core monitoring and reporting, but does not include Plus’s CSV shipment creation, multi-tracker shipments, or ETA and geofence alerts.
Plus: Everything in Essential, plus CSV shipment creation, multi-tracker shipments, branded public sharing links, ETAs with alerts, and geofence alerts. It fits teams that need more flexible shipment setup and richer alerting; API and webhook access remain Premium features.
Premium: Everything in Plus, plus API and webhook access, custom dashboards, ocean and air visibility, smart route deviation alerts, and SSO. It is the tier for organizations needing system connections and these additional visibility and administration capabilities.

Eligible new North American customers shipping more than 500 times per year can receive up to five trackers and 30 days of complimentary platform access. That trial is bounded by both eligibility and shipment volume, rather than being an open-ended free plan.

Platforms

Tive Platform supports web, API, iOS, and Android. The mobile app is available to Plus and Premium users, with shipment creation, editing, and enabling public sharing links reserved for other workflows.

Who it's for

The platform is a strong fit for shippers, retailers, and logistics service providers managing enough volume to benefit from real-time exception handling, validated reporting, or shipment analytics. Teams that need API and webhook connections, custom dashboards, or SSO should evaluate Premium. It is a weaker fit for small operations wanting transparent prices, or mobile-first teams that expect to create and edit shipments in the app.

Pros and cons

Pros: Real-time location, ETA predictions, and alerts cover shipment monitoring across four transport modes.
Pros: Validated reports and Reveal analytics extend the platform from exception response to compliance and performance review.
Pros: Premium API and webhook access provides a route to connect applications, with ERP and WMS connections supported through the API or a bridging TMS partner.
Cons: Custom pricing and a Sales-led tier comparison make it difficult to assess cost and feature fit upfront.
Cons: The mobile app cannot create or edit shipments or enable public sharing links, limiting it to monitoring tasks.
Cons: The complimentary trial is restricted to eligible new North American customers shipping more than 500 times per year.

Alternatives

For a container-focused option with a free tier, consider Terminal49: its free plan supports up to 10 active containers and three users, with shipment details, basic notifications, and 50 document credits. Trucker Tools offers a free carrier app and web-based carrier portal, while its Load Tracking plan uses volume-based pricing; it may suit teams prioritizing those carrier-facing tools. FourKites Dynamic Yard is another paid alternative with Android, iOS, and web support.

GEGO Tracking Solutions offers device-and-plan bundles, including GEGO PRO with a three-month business plan for 99.00 USD per once and an annual business plan for 299.99 USD per once. Portcast is a paid predictive visibility option at 45000.00 USD per year on a 12-month contract, with specified usage and possible additional AWS infrastructure costs. SeaVantage Cargo Insight has a free trial capped at five containers per month and one user, and a Starter plan at 100.00 USD per month. Shippeo is a paid platform for businesses exploring shipment visibility. GoComet is a paid alternative with a free plan.

Verdict

Choose Tive Platform if your operation needs cross-mode shipment monitoring backed by alerts, reporting, and analytics, and can evaluate a custom-priced tier through Sales. Look elsewhere if published pricing, a broad free plan, or full shipment management from a mobile app is essential.
