Overview

Security Guard App is an operations platform for security teams and the clients they serve. It suits organizations that need guard timekeeping, reports, patrol checks, and communications in one system. Its free plan is unusually broad for one user, while the per-guard Standard plan gives teams a clear starting price.

Managers can invite guards and clients, manage profiles, create multiple teams, and add multiple post sites. Guards can check in and out, maintain time logs, submit custom reports with photo, video, or audio attachments, and scan NFC checkpoint tags to record visits with notes or media. GPS tracking is available at sites; the app’s terms say location is tracked while a guard is using the app and tracking is enabled.

Communications and safety tools include in-app messaging, live notifications, panic alerts, post orders, and pass-down logs. The maker says it uses encrypted connections and security best practices to protect data and communications. Support is reachable by email or phone, with a support request link. The product names corporate, hospitality, campus, healthcare, and event security among its settings. For a broader category comparison, see Security Guard Software.

Key features

Team operations and timekeeping

Multiple teams, sites, guard profiles, and client profiles make the app a fit for organizations coordinating work across posts. Check-ins, check-outs, a time clock, and time logs give managers a way to track attendance alongside other site activity. The free plan includes these capabilities, but its single-user limit makes it a personal starting point rather than a workable plan for a staffed operation.

Reports and patrol verification

Custom reports can accept multiple submissions and photo, video, and audio attachments, which helps preserve context when guards report incidents or routine site activity. NFC checkpoint scans let supported roles verify patrol stops, record site visits, and add notes or media. Teams that need patrol verification can use these alongside reports rather than treating a check-in as the only record of a shift.

Location and communication

GPS tracking can show guards at sites, and the stated tracking condition is bounded: location is tracked when a guard is using the app and tracking is enabled. Messaging, live notifications, panic alerts, post orders, and pass-down logs cover day-to-day coordination and safety communication. No third-party software integrations are listed on the maker pages, so organizations depending on connected systems should weigh that limitation.

Pricing

Free

Free is free forever, and is for a single user. It includes check-in/out, post sites, custom and multiple reports, multimedia attachments, teams and profiles, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, and custom breaks. That is a substantial feature set for an individual guard or someone evaluating a workflow, but one user is the hard ceiling: a company coordinating multiple guards will need a paid plan.

Standard

Standard costs 5.00 USD per month, billed $5 Per Guard/Mo. It includes multiple post sites and team members, check-in/out, reports, multimedia attachments, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, custom breaks, and guard and client profiles. Per-guard billing makes the entry price clear, but the total rises with each guard; monthly subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time. It is the practical choice for teams that need to move beyond the single-user free plan without giving up the core operations tools.

Platforms

Security Guard App supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. A guard mobile app is available, and mobile support covers both major mobile platforms.

Who it's for

It is best suited to security companies and organizations that coordinate guards and clients across multiple posts, particularly in corporate, hospitality, campus, healthcare, or event security. The breadth of reporting, patrol verification, timekeeping, and communications makes it more compelling for teams managing daily site operations than for a solo user who only needs a time clock. Organizations that require third-party integrations should look elsewhere or confirm their requirements before choosing it.

Pros and cons

Broad free feature set: A single user gets reports, media attachments, GPS tracking, messaging, and patrol-related operations without a subscription.
Useful evidence capture: Reports and NFC patrol scans can include media and notes, supporting richer shift and incident records.
Clear team pricing: Standard is priced per guard each month, and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
Free plan is not a team plan: Its single-user cap means an organization must budget for Standard to coordinate multiple guards.
No listed integrations: Teams that rely on software connections may find the app a poor fit.

Alternatives

GuardTrac is worth comparing if a team wants a free allowance for up to 5 users at one client location, with basic reporting, live guard tracking, a client dashboard, and shift management.

JWM Guard Tour is an alternative for buyers considering a one-time app purchase rather than a free or monthly subscription.

GuardConnect is another freemium option, with a free plan for 1 to 10 officers.

GuardsPro offers a paid Visitor Manager plan at 1.00 USD per month per user, with visitor profiles, logs, mobile app entry, and data confidentiality; choose it when visitor management is the priority.

guardtour.app is a focused alternative if checkpoint verification is the main need: its free plan covers 5 checkpoints, 1 site, 30-day history, and QR and NFC verification.

THERMS is a paid alternative with a stated subscription tier for 1–5 user accounts at 45.00 USD per month.

Guardix is a paid alternative whose Starter plan is priced at 8.99 USD per month per user and includes up to 50 guards, guard scheduling, and a basic AI assistant.

Novagems is an option for buyers seeking custom pricing, month-to-month terms, a 14-day free trial, and unlimited sites and clients.

Verdict

Choose Security Guard App if your operation needs guard timekeeping, reporting, patrol verification, and communications across multiple sites, with a per-guard monthly plan and a generous single-user free tier. Its strongest case is the breadth of routine operations and reporting tools in one system; its main drawbacks are the free plan’s one-user cap and the absence of listed third-party integrations. Solo users can start free, while teams should compare the $5-per-guard monthly cost with their staffing needs.
