Overview

Workhub brings worker training together with the records and processes used to manage workplace safety and compliance. It is best suited to organizations coordinating those responsibilities across workers and worksites. The low paid entry price is attractive, but the minimum seat count and Free plan’s missing exports deserve attention.

Key features

Workhub goes beyond course delivery: teams can manage policies, procedures, certificates, competencies, incidents, inspections, safety meetings, forms, and bulletins. Keeping these records alongside training can help organizations prepare for audits without splitting routine compliance work across separate tools. For buyers who need only a course platform, that broader remit may be unnecessary.

The included library has more than 80 courses, and organizations can create courses from their own content and quizzes. Automated assignments, completion certificates, and an audit trail support tracking who has completed required training. There is no SCORM support, which rules Workhub out for teams that rely on SCORM packages.

Worksite Screening supports custom questionnaires and access logs for workers and visitors, extending the system to site access administration. WorkerID gives workers online and offline access to compliance data on computer or mobile. Workhub’s mobile-friendly application is a progressive web app that can be added to an iPhone or Android home screen; it is not an app-store download.

Paid subscribers can use API calls to extract basic data into external programs. Workhub also documents form-submission connections with Google Forms, Jotform, and Typeform. These options provide routes for moving data, though the API description is limited to basic extraction rather than a broader integration capability.

Pricing

Workhub is freemium, with a 30-day trial. It offers limited file uploads and limited support, and excludes data exports. That can make it a reasonable starting point for a small team assessing its needs, but restricted uploads and the inability to export data are meaningful constraints for ongoing records management.

Standard costs 3.00 USD per month (billed (USD) / month per user) and requires a minimum of 3 users. It adds custom branding, location-based assignments, SMS notifications, and data imports and exports, along with full phone and email support. SMS notifications are available in Canada and USA only. The minimum makes the entry cost 9.00 USD per month before any other terms; solo users cannot buy Standard on their own. Standard is the more practical choice when exports, fuller support, or location-based assignments matter.

Platforms

Workhub supports web, Android, iOS, and an API. Its mobile-friendly application runs as a progressive web app that can be added to an iPhone or Android home screen, not installed from an app store. WorkerID provides a separate way to access compliance data on computer or mobile, online or offline.

Who it's for

Workhub fits organizations responsible for worker safety training, certificates, policies, procedures, and audit preparation, especially those that want operational records and training in one system. It is less suitable for teams that need SCORM compatibility, or for individuals seeking the paid plan without meeting its three-user minimum.

Pros and cons

Broad compliance coverage: Training sits alongside incident, inspection, policy, and certificate records, which suits teams managing more than course completion.
Flexible training content: The 80+ course library and custom courses with quizzes support both ready-made and organization-specific training.
Worker access beyond the office: WorkerID offers offline access, while the mobile-friendly app can be added to a phone home screen.
Free-plan constraints: Limited uploads and support, plus no data exports, may limit its usefulness as a long-term records system.
No SCORM support: Organizations with existing SCORM course packages will need another option.
Standard seat minimum: The three-user requirement prevents a single user from taking the paid plan at its stated per-user price.

Alternatives

Compliance Training Software is a useful starting point for comparing options in the category. Consider SafetySkills if you want a freemium alternative across mobile and desktop platforms with per-credit course assignments. ComplyTrain may suit a very small team looking for a free web-based compliance system, with its free tier capped at one user and five QMS/IMS documents. Choose Enabler if you want to compare another freemium option available on Android, iOS, and web.

TrainMeUK is a paid alternative to consider if its Scale plan’s stated 251–999-user range and course allowance suit your organization. Traliant may be a better fit when you want a paid option whose Plus plan starts at 3.99 USD per year and includes HRIS integrations, analytics, legal support, a course customizer, classroom mode, and API access. 5Mins.ai is another paid option, with an Essentials plan billed yearly that starts from 20 users and includes 10 compliance courses of your choice.

Emtrain is worth comparing if you want paid per-learner annual pricing, with a 100-user minimum on Basic. Wranx is another paid alternative to assess.

Verdict

Choose Workhub if your organization needs training and day-to-day worker safety records under one roof, and Standard’s three-user minimum works for your team. Its strongest case is the combination of an 80+ course library with practical compliance administration; look elsewhere if SCORM is essential or you need paid access for fewer than three users.
