Overview

Designed for aesthetic and entertainment use, Voilà AI Artist transforms photos into looks such as 3D cartoons, caricatures, Renaissance paintings, and anime-inspired art. That range gives portrait-makers several directions to try within one app, but the photo-first workflow is a real boundary: people starting with a written concept rather than an image need a different tool.

Only photos selected for editing are uploaded. The privacy policy says those images are not kept in the cloud and are destroyed after processing; it also says the app does not collect or store face data, including biometric data. Usage and device data may be collected, and Firebase Analytics may be used. The Google Play listing says data is encrypted in transit and not shared with third parties. Google Cloud provides the backend, with servers in the United States.

Key features

Photo transformations: The app applies cartoon, art, and portrait styles, including 3D cartoons, Renaissance paintings, caricatures, and anime-inspired effects. This is useful for experimenting with different portrait treatments, but it is not text-to-cartoon generation.
Portrait editing: Color, brightness, and other controls let users fine-tune portraits after transformation, rather than relying only on the initial effect.
Avatar effects: Voilà Cartoon Avatar offers more than 20 effects, including stickers, cartoon characters, Chibi, and plush-wool styles. The breadth suits users looking for a distinctive avatar as well as a portrait filter.
Save and share: Creations can be saved and shared on social networks, supporting a casual sharing workflow.

The terms limit results to personal or editorial use. Commercial use, resale, and distribution are excluded, so creators who need reusable assets for clients or products should choose another option.

Pricing

The free plan is free and is free to use, with additional features requiring an optional subscription. That makes it a sensible starting point for occasional portrait experiments, though it does not include the paid plans’ stated benefits.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	Free	Free to use; additional features require an optional subscription
Voilà AI Artist Pro Monthly	5.99 USD per month	No watermark, no ads, and turbo processing speed
Voilà AI Artist Pro Yearly	29.99 USD per year	No watermark, no ads, turbo processing speed, and a 3-day free trial

Both paid plans automatically renew unless canceled, and their prices are U.S. pricing. The monthly plan fits users who want the cleaner exports and faster processing without a yearly commitment. The yearly plan offers the same stated benefits and a 3-day trial; it is the better fit for continued use, provided the automatic renewal is acceptable. Neither plan changes the personal/editorial-use restriction.

Platforms

Voilà AI Artist runs on Android and iOS. It is a mobile choice rather than a desktop or browser-based workflow.

Who it's for

Choose it for personal portraits, playful avatars, or social posts when you want multiple photo-based styles and basic portrait adjustments in a mobile app. Skip it for text-led image creation, commercial projects, resale, or distribution of results.

Pros and cons

Pro: A wide range of portrait and avatar effects gives photo-focused users more than one cartoon look to try.
Pro: Selected photos are destroyed after processing, and the policy says face and biometric data are not collected or stored.
Pro: The yearly subscription includes a 3-day free trial along with no-watermark, ad-free, turbo processing benefits.
Con: No text-to-cartoon option means users must begin with a photo.
Con: Commercial use, resale, and distribution are prohibited, limiting the app to personal or editorial output.
Con: Paid plans renew automatically unless canceled, so subscribers need to manage renewal if they do not want another term.

Alternatives

For a wider selection of tools in the same category, browse AI Cartoon Generators.

Cartoonie is worth considering if you need more platform coverage, including web, Windows, and macOS, alongside Android and iOS. Its free web preview is one protected preview; full-resolution access and more creations require a 10-credit pack.
Cartoonize is an alternative for users who want essential effects without registration, or a low-priced annual Pro plan at 6.99 USD per year.
GenToon is a better match for users who want a monthly credit allowance and character count: its free tier provides 150 credits/month and 20 characters, while Lite costs 10.00 USD per month for 800 credits/month and 20 characters.
ImageToCartoon suits someone seeking a public converter without an account, subscription, credits, or payment.
Pixelcut is an option for users seeking a broader toolkit that includes background removal and upscaling, with limited versions of both in its free plan.
Dreamina may suit users looking for a credit-based plan; its Basic tier is 15.00 USD per month and includes 1575 credits/month and watermark removal.
myComics.ai is the more relevant choice for making comics, with a free tier of 30 credits and 3 art styles and a printed comic book option from 9.99 USD per once.
Pict.AI is another freemium option for users comparing a mobile app with limited free web access.

Verdict

Voilà AI Artist is a good fit for mobile users who want varied, editable photo portraits and avatars for personal or editorial use. Its privacy approach to selected photos and its range of effects are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need text-to-cartoon creation, desktop access, or permission to sell or distribute the results.
