Yes, you can use AI-generated piano music in a video or stream under a vendor’s stated license, but “copyright-free” does not automatically mean the music is copyrightable, exclusive, or risk-free. OpenMusic AI specifically lists “Relaxed Piano” and says its generated tracks are royalty-free and cleared for commercial use, with a license for each song. SimpleLofi lists “Chill Piano” and says its original beats are safe for monetization. Treat those as vendor claims, read the terms that apply to your track, and keep the license or other proof of permission.

What “Copyright-Free Piano Music” Means

The phrase can refer to music offered without per-use royalties or a vendor’s permission to use it under stated conditions. It does not, by itself, settle who owns copyright, whether a track is exclusive, or whether your planned use meets the vendor’s terms. In the United States, the Copyright Office says works generated entirely by AI are not copyrightable; prompts alone do not make a person the author. For a mixed work, only the human-authored parts may be protected.

If you seek to register a work that contains more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material in the United States, the Copyright Office says you must disclose that material and describe the human author’s contribution. This is a statement of U.S. copyright guidance, not a conclusion about other countries.

Which Piano Options Have Relevant Evidence?

Service Piano-specific evidence Stated licensing or use claim Pricing in available details
OpenMusic AI “Relaxed Piano” Says every generated track is royalty-free and cleared for commercial use; says each song comes with a license. Freemium; paid access from $10.49 per month. Plan terms govern downloads and commercial licensing.
SimpleLofi “Chill Piano” track listed at 2:34 Says it offers unlimited copyright-free music and that every beat is original and safe for monetization on YouTube, Twitch, and all platforms. Not stated.

These descriptions establish that both services present piano-related material, but they do not establish piano controls such as tempo, key, duration, instrumentation, or whether you can export stems or MIDI for a piano track. Check each vendor’s current site and the specific track’s terms for those details.

How to Choose Piano Music for Your Use

First decide what the piano needs to do. A quiet, sparse part can sit under narration; a more active melody may compete with speech. For a loop, check that its ending joins cleanly to its start. For a reflective scene, specify the mood and energy without asking for a recognizable song or artist imitation.

If a service accepts text prompts, try a brief description such as “soft solo piano, slow and spacious, gentle dynamics, no vocals, subtle ending, background for spoken video.” For a loop, add “steady rhythm, no dramatic final chord, ending that can loop smoothly.” These are prompt-writing examples, not confirmed features of either service; check what the service’s current interface supports.

  1. Write down where the music will appear, whether it will be monetized, and whether it needs to loop or sit under speech.
  2. Generate or select a piano track only if the service offers the controls you need; do not assume that a piano label guarantees a particular tempo, arrangement, or file format.
  3. Review the result for unwanted vocals, abrupt endings, or a melody that distracts from your content.
  4. Before publishing, save the track name, the applicable license or terms, and any license document the service provides. Confirm that the terms cover your intended platform and use.

What to Check Before Publishing

  • Commercial scope: Confirm whether the permission covers monetized videos, streams, advertising, games, or releases relevant to your project. OpenMusic AI says plan terms govern downloads and commercial licensing; review those plan terms. SimpleLofi’s monetization statement is its own claim; check its terms for conditions and exceptions.
  • Track documentation: OpenMusic AI says each song comes with a license. Keep the license for the specific track. The details available here do not establish what documentation SimpleLofi provides, so check its site.
  • Consent and source material: If a piano track uses a performance, sample, cover, or other material from someone else, make sure you have the required consent and permissions, and follow the platform’s terms. The available product details do not explain either service’s handling of those cases.
  • Copyright expectations: A vendor’s permission to use a track is separate from whether the track qualifies for copyright protection. Do not assume an AI-generated piano piece is exclusive or that your prompt gives you authorship.
  • Changing terms: Check the current vendor terms when you create or download the track; a directory description does not replace the license that applies to your account and use.

When the Evidence Is Not Enough

If your project needs a particular piano sound, a specific export format, exclusive rights, or a clear answer about samples or covers, the evidence here does not establish that either service provides it. Check the vendor’s current product details and track-specific terms before relying on that capability or permission.
