For an AI song cover, use a recording you have permission to upload, choose a voice you are authorized to use, and check both the tool’s terms and the rights needed for your intended release. For a remix, first separate the source into stems if needed, then make a controlled arrangement change and verify the output and release terms before sharing it.

A cover changes who or what performs the song; a remix changes the arrangement or sound of a recording. The workflows below keep those jobs distinct, because a tool’s cover or commercial-use feature does not by itself establish that you may upload or release someone else’s song.

Choose The Workflow For Your Musical Goal

Goal Workflow Tools Listed starting price
Replace a vocal with an AI singing voice Prepare the song, generate a cover, then review the vocal and terms FineShare Singify; HitPaw AI Song Cover; MyVocal AI Singify: free plan; paid from $9.99/month. HitPaw: free plan; paid from $1.66/month. MyVocal AI: free plan.
Make an alternate arrangement from an existing recording Separate stems if useful, then transform the arrangement LALAL.AI; BeatMV AI Music Remixer LALAL.AI: free Starter plan; paid from $7.50/month with annual billing. BeatMV: paid from $19.90/month.

These tools establish capabilities for covers, stem separation, or remix generation; they do not establish support for a particular genre, instrument, or occasion. Check the vendor’s current feature details for your specific sound and file workflow.

Before You Upload Or Generate

  1. Pick the source deliberately. Use your own recording, a recording you are authorized to use, or material whose applicable permissions you have checked. A converter’s ability to accept a file does not establish permission to use it.
  2. Get consent for an identifiable voice. Use your own voice or one you have permission to clone or imitate. FineShare Singify offers custom voice training, HitPaw offers voice models, and MyVocal AI supports speaking- and singing-voice cloning; those features do not establish consent for a particular voice.
  3. Decide what “finished” means. For private experimentation, save the source, output, and tool settings. For a public or commercial release, check the service terms and the rights that apply to the song, recording, samples, and voice before publishing.
  4. Keep a disclosure record. Record which parts were AI-generated or transformed and what permissions you obtained. Spotify says it supports DDEX AI disclosures in credits, and its policies allow vocal impersonation only when the impersonated artist authorized it. Spotify’s announced AI protections describe that platform’s policies, not universal release rules.

Workflow A: Make A Voice Cover

  1. Prepare a clean source. Use an audio file you can lawfully upload. Check the selected service’s file limits and supported inputs before exporting; the listed tools differ in input types and limits.
  2. Choose the voice and performance controls. In Singify, choose from its voice models and use the available pitch and key controls; it also offers solo, duet, and chorus modes. HitPaw lists 100 AI singer voice models and pitch and similarity controls. MyVocal AI supports uploaded or recorded vocal samples for custom voice covers. These listed controls do not guarantee a particular genre or vocal character.
  3. Make a small, specific change first. For example, keep the original key and try one voice choice, then compare a second take with a modest pitch adjustment. This is a suggested comparison workflow using the listed controls, not a claim that a tool accepts natural-language prompts.
  4. Review the result against the song. Listen for timing, melody, intelligibility, and whether the replacement voice sounds like the authorized person or model you intended. If the tool provides preview or download options, check the output before treating it as final.
  5. Check export and usage terms. Singify offers MP3 or FLAC downloads, but its commercial use is restricted under the service terms. HitPaw supports MP3 or WAV export, while commercial use may require separate authorization or licensing. Check MyVocal AI’s current terms for export and usage details, which are not established here.

Workflow B: Remix An Existing Recording

  1. Decide whether stems will help. Use LALAL.AI to separate vocals or instruments when you need more control over parts of the recording. It can separate vocals, instruments, drums, bass, guitars, piano, and more. Its free Starter plan offers previews but not full result downloads; batch processing is on paid plans.
  2. Choose the arrangement change. BeatMV AI Music Remixer analyzes tempo, key, and structure before generating alternate arrangements, and lists genre, tempo, key, and intensity controls. A concrete starting brief for your own session could be: “Keep the vocal in front; lower the intensity; preserve the source tempo and key.” This is an example of choices to make with its controls, not a claim that BeatMV accepts this text as a prompt.
  3. Compare one change at a time. First preserve tempo and key while changing intensity; then try a different supported genre or tempo setting if the tool offers a suitable option. The directory establishes 30+ genres for BeatMV but does not identify them, so check its interface for the genre you need.
  4. Listen to the whole arrangement. Compare the vocal, bass, drums, and transitions with the source. Stem separation and automatic arrangement can alter or expose parts in ways you may not want; use the output preview and revise settings as needed.
  5. Confirm the release terms for the exact source and plan. BeatMV lists a commercial license on every plan, but that statement does not establish rights to the uploaded recording or composition. For LALAL.AI, check the vendor terms for your intended use; commercial permissions are not established here.

Rights Checks Before Sharing

  • Source recording: Make sure you are allowed to upload and transform the recording under the applicable permissions and service terms.
  • Song and samples: Check permissions for the composition and any samples or other included material. A tool’s commercial license or export option does not establish those permissions.
  • Voice: Obtain consent before cloning or impersonating an identifiable person. Spotify’s announced policy allows vocal impersonation only with artist authorization; platform rules can differ.
  • Destination and disclosure: Review the destination platform’s current rules and the AI disclosure options available to you. Spotify announced support for DDEX AI disclosures in credits and an AI Persona badge for artist identities that may be AI-generated rather than a real person. Spotify’s AI Persona badge announcement is specific to Spotify.

Consent and platform terms matter for voices, covers, samples, and commercial use. Check the current terms of each tool and destination platform, and verify permissions for the material you plan to use.
