You can turn your own lyrics into a finished AI song by preparing a clean lyric sheet, choosing a generator that accepts lyrics, and iterating on melody, vocal delivery, and arrangement. Keep your original words, label each section clearly, and save every version so you can return to a better take.
Prepare Lyrics That AI Can Follow
- Put each section on its own line with labels such as
[Verse 1],[Pre-Chorus],[Chorus], and[Bridge]. - Keep repeated chorus lines identical when you want the same hook each time.
- Remove notes that should not be sung. Put performance directions in a separate prompt, such as “intimate verse, wider chorus, clear diction.”
- Check syllable-heavy lines. If a generated melody rushes a phrase, shorten the line or generate another version rather than changing the lyric accidentally.
- Use only lyrics you wrote or have permission to use. Do not upload another writer’s words, a cover lyric, or a sample without the required permission.

Make The First Draft From Your Lyrics
- Open the tool you selected and choose its song or vocal-generation workflow.
- Paste the lyric sheet into the lyrics field. Preserve your section labels if the interface accepts them; otherwise, keep the labels in your prompt and paste only the words in the lyric field.
- Describe the musical brief in concrete terms: “mid-tempo alternative pop, close vocal in the verse, lift the chorus, restrained second verse, short instrumental turnaround, clean ending.” Add the mood, energy, instrumentation, and vocal character you want without naming a living singer.
- Generate two or more versions before rewriting the lyric. Compare whether the chorus arrives at the right time, whether stressed syllables land naturally, and whether the vocal tone suits the subject.
- Save the prompt, lyric text, version name, and date for every take. This makes a successful result reproducible.
Fix Melody, Pronunciation, And Structure

Shorten the line, split it at a natural breath, or ask for slower phrasing. Keep the meaning and rhyme scheme intact while changing only the crowded phrase.

When The Chorus Lacks Contrast
Regenerate with an explicit dynamic change: “lower, sparse verse; wider, more sustained chorus.” If the tool offers section editing or replacement, change only the chorus so the accepted verses remain intact.
When A Word Is Pronounced Incorrectly
Try a respelling that reflects the desired pronunciation, punctuation that creates a pause, or a fresh generation. Listen for names, abbreviations, and words that can be stressed in more than one way.

Export A Usable Song
- Choose the version whose lyric delivery is clearest, even if another version has a more exciting instrumental.
- Export the available full mix, then stems or MIDI when your plan and tool provide them.
- Keep the original lyric document beside the exported files, with the generation prompt and version history.
- Play the file on headphones and speakers, checking that consonants remain intelligible and that the chorus is not masked by the arrangement.
