Make weirdcore music with AI by prompting for an uncanny, half-remembered sound, then shaping the result into a sparse collage: a familiar melodic fragment, unstable atmosphere, and an optional broken pulse. Suno can generate and edit complete songs; Beat Shaper offers editable beats and exports for DAW work. Neither listing establishes a dedicated weirdcore mode or specific weirdcore sound effects, so treat the prompts below as creative directions, not guaranteed controls.
What To Aim For In Weirdcore
Weirdcore is an aesthetic rather than a fixed recipe. Aim for nostalgia that feels slightly wrong: soft, familiar tones against an empty or unsettling atmosphere, with a hook or sound fragment that seems to repeat imperfectly. It can be beatless, or use a slow, stumbling rhythm. The important choices are mood, contrast, and the feeling of a sonic memory coming apart.

Build A Weirdcore Track Step By Step
- Pick one uncanny scene. Write a short premise such as “an empty school corridor after the last bell” or “a forgotten computer room at night.” This gives the track a coherent image without asking the generator to imitate a particular artist.
- Describe the sound in layers. Specify a simple, memorable melody; hazy or detuned synth tones; distant room ambience; and a restrained, uneven pulse—or no drums. Ask for space and unease rather than a conventional pop build. For example: “Instrumental experimental electronic soundscape, nostalgic but quietly unsettling, like a familiar melody heard in an empty school after closing. Soft misty synth pad, sparse music-box-like notes, distant room tone, a slow stumbling pulse with gaps, unresolved ending, intimate and dreamlike. Keep the arrangement minimal; no triumphant chorus.”
- Generate a few alternatives and compare one feature at a time. If the result sounds too polished, ask for a hazier, more fragile texture. If it sounds like generic horror, soften the menace and emphasize wistful familiarity. If it becomes too busy, remove percussion or ask for fewer layers. This prompt iteration is a practical approach; the tools do not guarantee that a particular adjective maps to a specific sound.
- Use Suno for a complete draft. Enter the scene and sound description as a prompt, then listen for the melody, atmosphere, and pulse. Suno supports song generation, editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement, and stem export, so use its editing tools to revise a section or extend a promising idea. Its free plan does not include commercial rights or stem separation; check its current plan terms before relying on those options.
- Use Beat Shaper when you want to shape the rhythm. Create a restrained beat and work with its editable drums, basslines, synths, loops, and arrangements. Its piano roll includes genre, mood, energy, and syncopation controls; use low energy and an unusual syncopation choice as starting points, then pare back anything that pushes the track toward a conventional beat. Weirdcore-specific presets are not established. The free Starter plan limits downloads to MP3 and non-commercial use; paid plans start at €9 per month, and the Creator plan lists MIDI, MP3, and WAV downloads plus commercial usage rights.
- Keep only the sounds that support the scene. Remove parts that feel too bright, busy, or resolved. If your chosen tool does not let you edit the exact element you want, revise the prompt or move the exported material into a DAW you already use; verify which export formats and plan features are available before building your workflow around them.
- Check the ending and playback. A loop that returns slightly differently, a melody that stops before it resolves, or a gradual fade can preserve the uncanny feeling. Listen on headphones and a phone speaker so you can tell whether the quiet details survive at ordinary listening levels.
Try These Prompt Variations
Keep the core image but change one dimension per attempt. These are text suggestions, not documented presets or guaranteed effects.
- More ambient: “Beatless, long soft tones, sparse distant notes, slow shifts, unresolved and suspended.”
- More rhythm: “A slow, lopsided electronic pulse with gaps and an understated bass pattern; keep the melody fragile.”
- More nostalgic: “A simple, almost childlike motif with worn, hazy synth timbres, heard from far away; keep it gently uneasy.”
- With a voice: “A brief, original, distant announcement with very few words, half-heard behind the music.” Avoid asking for a real person’s voice without consent.
Samples, Voices, And Sharing
Do not upload or imitate someone’s voice without consent. Use only audio you have permission to use, and check each platform’s terms for uploaded references, generated output, and your intended release. Rights depend on the product and plan: Suno’s free plan excludes commercial rights, while Beat Shaper Starter downloads are non-commercial; check the vendors’ current terms before publishing or monetizing a track.
