If the memo is too noisy or off-key to convert cleanly, rebuild the part from MIDI with ACE Studio or Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro.
Before You Start: Protect The Performance
- Keep the untouched memo and work on copies. Do not overwrite the only recording.
- Trim long silences, mark breaths and note where the singer changes volume or moves away from the phone. These edits make later conversion more predictable.
- Use the cleanest file you have. A phone memo with backing music mixed into the vocal gives a separator less information to work with than an isolated vocal recording.
- Use only your own voice or a voice for which you have permission. Cloning or converting somebody else’s voice can violate that person’s rights and the service’s terms.
Step 1: Separate The Memo’s Vocal

Use this route when the memo has severe background noise, unstable pitch or timing that conversion cannot preserve. Transcribe the melody and words into MIDI and lyrics, then render a new vocal while using the memo as a phrasing reference.

ACE Studio For Singing Generation And Cloning

Step 4: Make The Converted Vocal Sound Recorded
- Comp the best phrases from several renders. Keep consonants and breaths from the take that feels most natural.
- Correct obvious pitch jumps first, then adjust timing against the instrumental. Heavy correction before timing can make edits harder to judge.
- Build harmonies only after the lead is stable. Audimee can create up to five harmony tracks; other tools may require separate renders, so check their current documentation for your workflow.
- Process the vocal in your DAW with the same basic order you would use for a recorded singer: corrective cleanup, level control, tone shaping, ambience and final automation.
- Export a full mix and a dry vocal stem. Keeping the stem lets you revise conversion, effects or licensing decisions later.
Rights And Release Checks
- Obtain consent before training, cloning or converting a person’s voice, including a collaborator’s voice in a memo.
- Check the specific voice model’s terms before releasing a cover, character-like performance or commercial song.
