Use an AI music tool to turn a short brief into a draft, then revise the parts that matter: lyrics, arrangement, sections, or instrumental balance. Start with Suno for a complete song and editing workflow, Soundverse AI Beat Maker for an instrumental, or SongIntent when you want to work closely on lyrics, melody, and structure.
Choose The Kind Of Music You Want To Make
Before prompting, decide whether you need a song with vocals, an instrumental, or material to refine in another music workflow. Then write down the intended use, mood, style, vocal or instrumental direction, and any must-have sections. These are creative instructions, not guaranteed controls: check each tool’s site for support for a particular genre, instrument, tempo, language, or export format.

Make A First Draft
- Write a brief. State the purpose, mood, vocal or instrumental choice, broad style, and structure. For example: “An instrumental for a quiet late-night drive; warm, restrained energy; begin sparse, add a steady beat and fuller texture in the middle, then end gently.” Treat this as a creative starting point; verify that your chosen tool supports the specific musical details you need.
- Choose the matching workflow. For a full song, enter the brief in Suno or Eleven Music; both list vocal and instrumental generation. For an instrumental with separated stems or MIDI for further editing, use Soundverse. To build around lyrics, cadence, or a melody sketch, begin in SongIntent.
- Generate and listen for the main idea. Check whether the draft has the right mood, a clear beginning and ending, and a vocal or instrumental balance that suits its purpose. Write down one or two specific changes instead of replacing the whole brief.
Shape The Song In Focused Passes
- Fix the words or melody. If the lyric is the weak point, revise it before asking for a new arrangement. SongIntent supports line-level revisions and melody sketches; Suno supports editing. Keep a copy of your own lyrics and notes so you can identify the human-written material you contributed.
- Revise one section at a time. In Suno, use section replacement or extension when a passage needs work. Eleven Music supports section editing and inpainting. Give the section a clear role—such as a quieter verse or a more emphatic chorus—without assuming the tool will interpret a musical term exactly as intended.
- Refine an instrumental separately when useful. Soundverse is designed for complete instrumentals and offers stems and MIDI export for further editing. Suno also lists stem export, though its free plan excludes stem separation. Check the current plan details before relying on an export.
- Keep versions and compare them. Save each draft with a short note about what changed, such as “shorter intro” or “less busy backing.” Compare the same passage across versions so you can choose based on the musical result rather than the novelty of a new generation.
Prepare A Version You Can Share
Listen to the whole track once for continuity, then check the opening, transitions, ending, and any lyrics you plan to publish. Export options and download limits depend on the product and plan; confirm them on the vendor’s site before building a release workflow around a particular format.
Rights depend on both the material you provide and the product’s terms. Get consent before using another person’s voice or lyrics, and review the relevant platform terms for covers, samples, and commercial use. Suno’s free plan does not include commercial rights. Eleven Music says commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games. Loudly’s paid licensing rights depend on plan terms, so check those terms before distributing music made there.

In the United States, the Copyright Office says a work generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make someone the author, and only human-authored parts of a mixed work may be protected. Applicants registering a work with more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material must disclose it and describe the human author’s contribution. When The Draft Misses
- If the result sounds too generic, replace broad mood words with concrete instructions about the arrangement, energy, and section changes. Check the tool’s site for any specific genre or instrument support you need.
- If a vocal song is not working, try an instrumental draft or revise the lyric and structure before regenerating. SongIntent supports lyric and structure work, while Suno and Eleven Music list both vocal and instrumental generation.
- If you need detailed control over a particular instrument, tempo, language, or audio format, do not infer that support from a general music-generation description. Confirm the feature with the vendor before choosing a tool.
