What it is
MakesPerfect is a web-based practice workspace combining a practice log, music library, tuner, metronome, interactive scores and calendar. Interactive scores can be slowed without changing pitch and looped over selected bars. The score player records playing time, pauses when its browser tab is hidden and lets users save sessions to the practice log. Teachers can assign exercises with chosen bars, tempo and repetition counts, review progress and exchange notes. Musicians can tag practice sessions to a teacher or ensemble. Ensembles share a music shelf and rehearsal calendar with RSVP statuses, and members must accept invitations. The library accepts PDFs and OpenVoicing bundles up to 50 MB each; PDFs remain documents rather than playable scores. Uploads begin private and can be shared per piece, but sharing controls are not encryption and direct file URLs may provide access. The browser tuner keeps audio on the device, uses YIN pitch detection with note lock and is stated to hear down to 27 Hz. A calendar supports lessons, classes, rehearsals, performances, practice and other events. MakesPerfect is free today: free, with no billing system or paid tier.
