What it is
MinecraftDome is a free, open-source web app that generates dome geometry and construction plans for Minecraft. You draw connected square-mesh surfaces in circles, rectangles, diamonds, ellipses, or hyperellipses, then add anchors to constrain them. Anchors within a layer are treated as points on a plane defined by three points. Shape calculations include parabolic, catenary, and roof loads; setting load values to zero creates a soap-bubble effect. The display can show ideal blocks, a line grid, or Minecraft blocks, with an option requiring adjacent blocks to meet by a face. Generated plans are fixed-width plain text for copying, pasting, or printing. X and Z markers appear every 16 blocks and Y markers every 8, with chunk-line offsets. The documented version has no save, restore, or undo. Catenary calculations can run to infinity, so reset may be needed.

Plans and prices
Strong points and limits
Strong points
- Free and open source
- Supports several mesh shapes
- Provides 3D block display
- Produces fixed-width construction plans
- Includes coordinate markers
Limits
- No save, restore, or undo
- Catenary calculations may run indefinitely
- Browser results may vary
- Optional donations are suggested
Who it suits
It suits Minecraft builders who want geometric dome layouts and printable coordinate plans in a browser. It is also useful for users comfortable with a tool that lacks saved projects and undo.
Verdict
MinecraftDome focuses on generating constrained dome surfaces and plain-text building plans without a paid account. Its missing project storage and potentially runaway catenary calculations are important workflow limitations.
