Planix

What it is
Planix turns a plain-English project brief into dimensioned 2D floor plans, an interactive 3D model, and preliminary engineering outputs. A mathematical solver places walls, rooms, and columns. The pipeline supplies country-aware structural defaults, a bill of quantities, a cost estimate, and engineering notes for review by a licensed engineer. Users inspect walls and openings in a browser WebGL viewport and download AutoCAD-compatible DXF and PDF files; listed export formats also include IFC, OBJ, and STL. Planix Analyze accepts IFC, PDF, DXF, Excel, image, CSV, and DWG files for preliminary structural or civil analysis. Planix Connect is a Windows desktop agent for installed AutoCAD, with AutoCAD 2018+ and Revit 2021+ compatibility listed; Revit and SketchUp support is beta. Connect does not yet support structural drawings inside AutoCAD or Revit, mixed-use buildings, or irregular plots. Files use private storage and signed download URLs. The Free plan costs nothing and allows 10 plan generations monthly.

It suits civil and structural engineers, architects, builders, and design-build firms preparing preliminary layouts, massing, or rough quantities. It is available on the web and Windows.
Verdict
Planix links text-based planning with 2D, 3D, and preliminary engineering outputs, plus analysis of common project files. The free allowance is useful for initial work, but construction decisions require licensed review and Connect has stated scope limits.
