Spec score 7.8 #15 of 35 in Static site generators

What it is

Stapy is a free, open-source static site generator from Magentix for building sites with Python. It runs on Linux and Windows, needs Python 3.6 or newer, and works without additional packages. A local preview server lets you view generated pages while working. Stapy writes static files into environment directories under the web directory, including a production directory intended for publishing. Page data is kept in JSON files, and page settings can be combined with layouts at several levels. Templates provide variables, included content, plugin methods and reusable child blocks. Themes can inherit from parent themes, with individual files overriding inherited files. Python plugins can alter content and page data during rendering, handle HTTP requests or add template methods. An official plugin adds a web editor at /_editor by default. Publishing documentation covers SFTP, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Vercel and GitHub Pages. The free plan costs nothing.
