What it is
Temps is a self-hosted deployment platform that combines deployment and developer tools in one Rust binary. It supports git-push deployments, pull request preview URLs, and zero-downtime rollouts. Its analytics cover visitors, custom events, session replay, and funnels, while OpenTelemetry ingestion handles traces, logs, and metrics. Temps also provides log history, continuous uptime monitoring, and real-user Web Vitals per page. Through its dashboard, it provisions PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, and RustFS services. Analytics and operational data remain on the operator's infrastructure; telemetry is off by default. Temps says application secrets and credentials are encrypted before they reach the database using a key generated at installation and held by the operator. Self-hosting is available now, while Temps Cloud plans are marked coming soon. The self-hosted plan costs nothing. Listed cloud plans start at $29 a month, but are also marked coming soon. Temps states it is not SOC 2 certified. Temps Fleet desktop installers are available for macOS, Windows 10 or later, and 64-bit Linux.

Who it suits
Temps suits teams seeking to consolidate deployment and developer services while keeping data on infrastructure they own. It is also relevant to operators who want preview deployments, observability, and managed databases in a self-hosted setup.
Temps in depth
Read the full write-up
Temps is a self-hosted platform that unifies application delivery, product insight and operational services in one install. It suits teams willing to run infrastructure themselves, especially those consolidating several developer tools while retaining control of their data. The trade-off is substantial operational ownership, and hosted plans are not ready yet.
Overview
Temps packages git-based deployment, analytics, observability, monitoring and managed services in a single Rust binary. That breadth can replace a collection of deployment, telemetry and database products, while keeping analytics, replay data, logs and metrics in the operator’s PostgreSQL database. The free self-hosted offer removes software fees, but storage and query compute remain the customer’s hardware responsibility.
Key features
Deployment and previews: Git-push releases, pull-request preview URLs and zero-downtime rollouts cover review through production. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gitea/Forgejo and other Git servers are supported. Custom domains and database previews are useful for realistic review environments; the lack of expiry controls means someone must clean up stale previews.
Analytics and observability: Visitor analytics, custom events, session replay and funnel analysis are built in. OpenTelemetry traces, logs and metrics, with log history, provide a common operational view, while uptime checks and per-page real-user Web Vitals connect service health to user experience.
Managed services: The dashboard provisions PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis and RustFS, alongside transactional email and AI agent sandboxes. AWS S3, Scaleway, SMTP and Sentry-compatible error ingestion extend integration options.
Privacy and security: Telemetry is disabled by default. Temps says analytics, replays, error reports, logs and metrics stay in the operator’s PostgreSQL database, and encrypts application secrets and credentials before database storage with an installation-generated key held only by the operator. It is not SOC 2 certified, though source code, a completed security questionnaire and GDPR and data-ownership documentation support due diligence.
Administration: Temps Fleet installs and manages the platform on macOS, Windows 10 or later, and 64-bit Linux. Security-review enquiries are answered within two business days.
Pricing
The self-hosted plan costs $0 forever. It provides local, unmetered telemetry and unlimited projects, deployments and users, with storage and query compute running on your hardware. It is the strongest fit for teams that can supply and operate that infrastructure.
A managed-account trial is free for 14 days with no card required and includes Starter access, but Cloud is coming soon. When released, Starter is $29 per month for 10 GB telemetry, 30-day retention, 50 GB backup storage, seven-day point-in-time recovery, 10 GB monthly restore verification and 10 compute hours. Team costs $99 per month and raises those allowances to 100 GB telemetry, 90-day retention, 250 GB backups, 30-day recovery, 20 GB restore verification and 50 compute hours. Business is $299 per month with 250 GB telemetry, 13-month retention, 1 TB backups, 90-day recovery, 20 GB restore verification and 200 compute hours. Enterprise uses custom pricing and negotiates telemetry, query compute, retention, backup, recovery policy and region. The paid tiers are not usable as hosted service yet, so buyers needing immediate managed capacity should look elsewhere.
Platforms
The service supports API, Linux, macOS, self-hosted, web and Windows environments. Fleet installers cover macOS, Windows 10+ and 64-bit Linux, while the core deployment model is self-hosted.
Who it's for
Temps is aimed at development teams that want one control plane for releases, previews, telemetry, monitoring and databases without sending operational data to multiple vendors. It is a good match for organisations with infrastructure expertise and clear data-ownership requirements. It is a poor fit for teams that want a mature, immediately available hosted platform or do not want to run PostgreSQL-backed telemetry themselves.
Pros and cons
Pros
Broad deployment, analytics, observability and managed-service coverage in one binary.
Unlimited projects, deployments and users on the free self-hosted plan.
Operator-controlled data location, encryption keys and default-off telemetry.
Database previews, custom domains and broad Git-provider support.
Cons
Cloud plans are still coming soon, leaving self-hosting as the practical option.
Hardware, storage and query performance are the operator’s responsibility.
No preview-expiry controls create cleanup work.
No SOC 2 certification may rule it out for some procurement processes.
Alternatives
Choose Preview Environment Software when preview environments are the primary requirement. Railway is a hosted-oriented alternative with a one-time $5 trial credit, two replicas, 1 GB RAM, 2 vCPU and limited storage, but no free plan. Encore suits teams wanting a free tier with two development environments, 1 million trace events per month and seven-day retention. sh0 offers a free local stack with unlimited apps and deployments, plus a $19 monthly Pro plan. Zeabur provides a free plan for one manageable server, 2C4G build CI and 48-hour logs. Nullstone is better for AWS or GCP users needing a free individual tier with one user, one environment and 10 weekly deploys. Signadot targets sandbox workflows, with 50 sandboxes and 100 test invocations per month on its free Starter plan. Upsun (formerly Platform.sh) offers a hosted 15-day trial with a monthly credit for one project and user. Miren is a self-hosted option whose deployment runtime is Apache 2.0 open source and whose base plan is always free.
Verdict
Choose Temps if you want a single self-hosted system for deployment, product analytics, observability and databases, and can operate the underlying infrastructure. Look elsewhere if you need hosted capacity now, automatic preview lifecycle management or SOC 2 certification.
Verdict
Temps combines deployment, analytics, monitoring, and managed services for self-hosted use, with operator-controlled data storage. Cloud plans are not yet available, and the maker states the product is not SOC 2 certified.
