What it is

WinX DVD Ripper converts DVDs into digital files and creates DVD backups. It accepts DVD discs, ISO images, and DVD folders; the maker says it can handle protected, old, or 99-title discs. Listed outputs include MP4 with H.264 or HEVC, AVI, MP3, MPEG, WMV, and MOV. The free edition outputs MP4 with H.264 and has limits on newly released commercial 99-title movie DVDs and damaged discs. Platinum Edition lists more than 350 formats and device profiles, including profiles for phones, tablets, game consoles, YouTube, and TVs. Backup options include DVD-to-ISO cloning, DVD-to-MPEG2 copying, and main-title or full-title backup. Users can trim, merge, and crop titles, choose audio tracks, and manage subtitles while ripping. Hardware acceleration uses Intel QSV, NVIDIA CUDA/NVENC, and AMD technologies. Named backup destinations include HDD, USB, NAS, cloud storage, and Plex. Separate Windows and Mac versions are listed. The Windows free edition lists Windows 11, Windows 10, or lower; the Mac version supports DVD ripping and copying to Mac, iPhone, iPad, iTunes, and MP4. The free plan is available; the Premium License costs $39.95 a year, billed annually with automatic renewal, for three PCs.
