In their own words
3D InterOp
3D InterOp is a software development toolkit for translating visualization data, exact B-rep geometry and metadata among CAD formats. It reads and writes more than 30 CAD, BIM, mesh and visualization formats. Developers can use its API to import product structure, tessellated geometry, exact geometry and manufacturing information selectively. Automated healing, stitching and resurfacing can produce topologically valid solid models for downstream workflows. The toolkit supports stable CAD topological identifiers and graphical and semantic PMI with geometric associativity. Using the CGM kernel and native APIs, it reads and writes CATPart and CATProduct, and reads CATIA and SolidWorks metadata without a CAD license. Spatial names 3D ACIS Modeler, CGM Modeler and Parasolid for CAD/CAM data exchange. Concurrent import uses multiple threads and processes. It runs on Windows, Linux and macOS and supports cloud deployment. Spatial says major releases arrive twice yearly, with minor weekly updates and format-version support updated with each major release. Evaluation involves a discovery call, an evaluation SDK and weekly advice; no trial duration is stated. Pricing is on request.
Vertessia
Vertessia converts meshes and scans into editable STEP CAD surfaces through web and API access. Organic mode creates smooth NURBS patches for organic shapes, while Mechanical mode fits exact planes, cylinders, and cones. Accepted files include STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB, glTF, and STEP, with uploads up to 100 MB. Mesh conversions and STEP-to-mesh conversion are free without an account. A free account enables reconstruction and a browser 3D preview before downloading, with three free STEP downloads at signup. The site says typical reconstruction takes 30 seconds to two minutes. Jobs rebuilding under 85% of a mesh fail without charge; 85% to 95% coverage produces a warning. Plans include Free, Maker at $19 a month, Pro at $79 a month, Team at $249 a month, and Pay as you go at 3030.00 USD once. Files are processed in Canada and deleted within 24 hours, except paid STEP files retained 30 days.
